Wow. Just wow. The ambiance of this place is amazing. Light fixtures, wallpaper, barstools, and even the smell of the place was top notch. It's definitely a 70's themed bar in all the right ways. Think of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", but as a bar. Cocktails were amazing with high quality ingredients and the staff was super polite. Patio was so cool and they have a spot for live music back there.
Will definitely be back. I want to put this as a top three bar in Omaha, but I haven't gone enough.
PS I know we had a thread about this before, but I couldn't find it

It didn't last as "Merica" Bar?
The name was actually a joke from the show 'New Girl'.
I get it - but I don't think A LOT of patrons (or possible patrons) understood. Given the geopolitical climate, the timing was probably not great to try that one. Otherwise, they likely wouldn't be "rebranding" already, correct?

I think that's always going to be a difficult location. there's nothing else there. No synergy with the local area for the most part. Parking isn't always plentiful. It's just not a bar you think about. There were a lot of these one off bars that opened around that area and a couple have already suffered similar fates like Bull Moose. I"m not sure the name helped, but I'm not sure it was what a killer either.
Do we know if it's the same owners or different? If anything about the geopolitical climate is about to kill bars, it's the fact that the cost of everything is on the rise, people can't afford to fill their tank or buy basic necessities, and AI is taking jobs and making finding a new job extremely difficult. I'd put the name of the True American bar somewhere below all of those other factors and location.

I mean, the Marleybone did well there for years. And the population density has only increased since then. I just think it didn't connect with their intended clientele.

Yeah gonna disagree with you on that one, I think its in a great location. There is apartments/dorms going up all around, only a few blocks away from blackstone, and now theres probably 3 or 4 bars on leavenworth you can walk to from here. It was packed the first few months it was open but some drama went down with the owner and all the bartenders walked out. Never seemed to recover after that which makes sense if his Wife is taking it over now.
Staff wasn’t treated well either. I remember they had to close for a week because the whole staff quit over unfair conditions/treatment. Other things like how they treated their customers was also a concern for going in there for some as well.
I haven't seen an official announcement from them but I saw that Auction Mill announced that this place is closing and are going to auction off all of the stuff this week.
