Matt Rhule's Legacy at Nebraska will be ending the sellout streak.

Yet another pathetic performance and loss for the NU football program..

This team is poorly prepared during the week, poorly coached in game, and the pathetic play on the field by the players reflects that. Untimely PENALTIES anyone? LOL. Sheesh! Hitting your head, as a fan, against a brick wall- does not feel any better after you do it 1000 times compared to the first time. Like I stated last week, this team has devolved so LOW, they are not even able to win these 50/50 games. Now, the reality is, the best case scenario is a 6-6 season for the Huskers..and I have doubts they can defeat an equally pathetic Rutgers team on the road at this point. There is no way.. NO WAY they defeat Ohio St or Iowa..and anyone who thinks so is delusional.. So 5-7 or 6-6 is the season record for 2026. This is Matt Rhule’s 4th season and absolutely NO NEEDLE moved..

I frankly don’t give a sh!t about $63 million reasons for Rhule not be be fired and to continue as head coach at Nebraska.. Heads need to roll now and it starts at the top…

This is great, the Huskers should play every Friday night.

Some fans talk about the money as if its ours. I dont care about 63 million either. I just want a good coach.

Exactly..and at a minimum, find a head coach who does NOT coach one of the top penalty stricken teams in the Big 10, and can at least, find a competent kid who can kick a freaking Field Goal..

Pathetic and embarrassing…

You could just say this was just one of those days where nothing went right for Nebraska. But I don’t think that would do it justice.

I only watched it till halftime. I checked the score around 11 and decided that was a smart move . We'll be 6-6 if we’re lucky. We have one possible winnable game left, 5-7 is not out of the picture.

There are high school teams who out perform them. With a coach who probably only makes 60,000 a year.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Talent can no longer be the excuse. By the 3rd quarter I was wondering what Bret Bielema could do with these same Nebraska players. Bielema knows how to coach with less in The Big 10 and manage the clock. Holgorsen needed to leave with Raiola. He seems to be making Colandrea regress. Moving himself to the box only yielded less points. At this point I'd like to see Kalin and Lateen on the field. Colandrea should've been benched last week. Of course there's not another TO out there but there coaches would know how to put a disciplined product on the field and understand how to win in The Big 10. Rhule seems to have lost the plot.

The New Mexico coach Jason Eck is mentioned on the internet as a possible replacement for Rhule. And some Indiana assistants. This is all just speculation right now.

As a recent snapshot, the 2026 NFL draft saw three Illinis drafted but only one Husker drafted. I would assume that this year's Illinois team still has more high-end talent than this year's Nebraska team.

Well, to be fair, Holgorsen on the sideline (Washington) scored 10 points, while Holgorsen in the box (Illinois) upgraded to 13 points.

Looks like Dana has been fired. Per Rhule, "Our offensive plan and execution is simply not working."

Yeah, he’ll be a top candidate somewhere this year. I’ve followed him for a couple years now as a possible replacement for Ferentz, should he retire/resign sometime soon. Eck has midwestern roots.

Rhule isn’t getting fired anytime soon. These are the realistic options at his disposal. In addition to the fact he needs to recruit better.

That's not a good way to evaluate collective team talent.

As we've discussed here before, I think the problem is more of a coaching issue and player development.

On a coach replacement....

What coach (captain) would take on this program (sinking ship) at this point? Unless it's an intentional cashout in 4-5 years when they can't or don't fix the broken wheel.

Actually... doesn't really sound like a bad idea if you think abut it. Easy money.

Looking to the NFL is certainly an incomplete snapshot of our roster quality. But it at least seems more objective than relying on recruiting ranking services, which I'm sure are not capable of effectively scouting thousands of players. Further, having just one NFL-quality player can make a huge difference (e.g., Emmett Johnson, Wan'Dale Robinson).

That being said, I think we clearly also have coaching and development problems.

You think you’re going to get a coaching move within conference, when said coach is already in SoCal?!

Anything for the money. No matter how unlikely, Nebraska would be stupid not to be in on the feeding frenzy, just because we have Matt Rhule.

Plus, like what was said earlier, its guaranteed cash money, win or lose.
