Forget Cheesecake, what about a RainForest Cafe?

OK, so it'll probably never happen, considering there are only 26 locations throughout the US. But wouldn't it be cool to have a RainForest Cafe near the zoo? I know Jhuston and I have discussed this before in my forum. An ESPN Zone would be a great fit in the area too. This would give families a fun dining experience after they visit the zoo and before they head off to a Royals game. We need some restaurants in the area to keep families around to stay for the game.

An ESPN Zone would be great. I have been to the one in Manhattan 2 years ago and it was great. I think a downtown/Old Market location would be a great atmosphere for ESPN.

Ya it would, but if they fixed up the area around the zoo and rosenblatt, a RainForest Cafe and ESPN Zone would fit nicely!

Yes I agree, Cheeseburgers in Paradise wasn't a great place at all. The decor was nice, but the food didn't impress me.

It's all about the atmosphere. I have seldom experienced a theme restaurant like this which had truly outstanding food.

Oh... and I may be mistaken... but I believe Kona Grill was to open yesterday. My wife wasn't able to make her 'Village Pointe managers only' dinner. Mimi's will be opening very soon as well... as will the Melting Pot.

It doesn't have to be outstanding food, but Cheeseburgers in Paradise didn't even have "great" food. Nothing special. At least places like Red Robin, RainForest Cafe have great food and a lot of specialty burgers/sandwiches. Chilis and Applebees even have better food than Cheeseburgers in Paradise.

The only thing Cheeseburgers had at all was the atmosphere.

Well, I'm sure ya did. That's the thing about a restaurant's business. You usually never get a second chance to make a first impression. If you order the wrong thing your first time there and don't like it, chances are you'll never return.

My family also had a good experience at Cheeseburger In Paradise. We took my 11 year old daughter for her birthday and the food was excellent. I had one of the fu-fu girly man drinks and it was very good.

We would go back again.

Well, I wish my experience was better cuz I really liked the atmosphere. But I was with a party of five and none of us "really enjoyed" the meals we had. We all thought their burgers were nothing special at all.

There wasn't any live music playing when I was there. In fact, they kept playing the same song over and over the whole time we were there on their speakers. I'm sure they were just having a glitch, but that got annoying as well.

Just kidding, If you had an ESPN zone and a Rainforest Cafe along 10th st do you think it will help Omaha Royals Attendance? People could make more of a day out of it.

I am surprised that no one has taken advantage of 13th St except Zesty's and the people who rent out their houses during the CWS.

I'm very surprised too. Those two restaurants down in that area would definitely improve attendance to our Royals. Families would probably make an entire day out of going to the zoo and a ball game, if there were some neat restaurants to dine at in between.
