I just got back from Dallas ant there is an apple store there???? I don't get it. There is a bunch of cool places I would rather have before an apple store.

However the interesting thing is that The apple Store was on the SW corner, Crate and Barrel was on the NW corner and Z Galarie was on the NE corner. It was on an intersection that I would compare to 50th and Underwood. They weren't in the "new mall" or on the hot intersection, they were in a place like Dundee.

We need a Crate and Barrel here.

I'm guessing most of the construction is now being done on the interior, as the exterior hasn't changed much in the last 3+ weeks.

After some time of inactivity, the Apple Store at Village Pointe now has a black, wood shroud built around it's front.

No other construction was visible.

Anyone have an opening date better than "end of 2006"?

One of my friends got hired on and has to cgo to Cupertino for a month to train to start working there. Even he hasn't no better idea than Aug-Sept 06.

Would it have hurt to mention what Apple is? It took seven paragraphs to casually mention that apple was a computer maker. Is that all? You can't take for granted that everyone who reads your newspaper is an Apple/MAC fan and know what the heck you are talking about.

Dunno for sure but I did read that They wait until they do open a store to publicize (and all that other jazz) it. Just one more of Apple's little marketing tactics.

According to Gary Allen at http://www.ifoAppleStore.com, his best guess on our Apple Store's opening is September 9.

The opening will be on a Saturday, so a Saturday in September looks accurate.

Will you wait in a long line for a free tee-shirt? I was at Apple's store opening in King of Prussia, it was cool.

I still remember taking MTO into the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue. He wasn't expecting it and just followed me into the store. He stopped in his tracks when he realized where we were. He was like a kid in Santa's workshop. It was hilarious.

Actually I am glad they are such a small part of the market. I like having something that the next guy doesn't and knowing it is superior is the frosting on the cake.

UPDATE,
http://www.ifoAppleStore.com is now reporting "(Village Pointe) store opens about Sept. 26th"

His apple_stores.pdf file now states Sept 19. (I assume Sept 26 is a later update)

In fairness to Gary, construction delays can easily effect opening dates.

I would say very favorably..

I spent time at Village Pointe Saturday evening and this Apple store has a prominant location right next to J Crew and Coach..

No specs have been provided as far as I know..Mac likes to be very incognito and low key when they open store locations..
