Can we turn this spell checker off? I already know how to spell. It also screws up common abbreviations for things like Downtown, Old Market, Village Point.

Go 2/3 of the way down on your profile and turn it off.

To turn the automatic spell Checking go to your profile and change 'Always check Spelling before posting:' to no and then click submit.

That is a new Mod that I am playing with right now. It works in some browsers but not others.

The only slow down is the time that it takes SpellingCow to initiate. This is an offsite program.

Well, I always considered MYSELF a hobbyist (even a very casual one at that)... so, phpbb was probably a great choice. I can't speak for |BOB|.

Look, I think this has been touched upon in at least half a dozen different threads. There were numerous reasons for my no longer wanting to host this forum, everything from realizing that I was spending too much time 'on the web' to wanting to focus on OTHER -hobbies- to (yes) being irritated with some of the forum patrons. A point came when I needed a PC for another use in the house, and I used it as an excuse to abruptly pull the plug. That said, I had absolutely no idea that poor |BOB| here, was going to have the problems he had (actually, it was his web host) getting the new forum up, as initially it appeared he was ready to go. Well, a month or so later, the site was better than ever... and the forum goes on.

I think everyone owes |BOB |a huge thank you! the forum looks great!

Wow now even Mozilla is not showing up this php correctly. This is my first problem ever owning a Mac. I'm not sure if I should blame the php or the browser.

The MySpace Mod was added a little while ago. You can now modify your Profile to look like MySpace. This Mod was made for the subSilver Theme - so I am trying to modify it for the present one. Please be patient while this Mod is being added/debugged.

New Mod Added this evening. When you respond to a Private Message, the message will now appear below your entry form so you can see what had been sent, just like you can see previous posts when you enter a post. I do not know why this wasn't a standard feature.

I need to work on that. It is the second spelling cow that I installed (the one which creates the yellow underlining) that does this. I will work on that later this evening.

Yeah..That just happened to me..In my case it erased the entire message..

The Mod "Pages Modified so that if a large picture is posted it will not break the layout, but provide a link to the full sized image." has been abandoned. It was causing too many Safari problems dispite the fact it was supposed to disable upon Safari detect.

We are sorry about the downtime that has occured the last few days. This has been caused by an abnormal amount of Googlebots that have been searching eOmahaForums. This is the search engine that Google uses to index all the world wide web pages. At times google has one IP address searching over 150 pages at once on this site. While only 5% of the available bandwidth is used, they make too many queries to the database that our server will not allow. A few modifications have been made to try to correct this problem, but until the right one is found this site may be down from time to time until this is corrected. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Maybe a robots.txt file in the web root directory like this might help.
