Tough last second loss on the road at Maryland. Going to have to win a few of these this year because it will be increasingly difficult to maintain the home unbeaten streak in the much improved Big 10. Next game is a tough one as well. On the road at #25 Iowa.

I know a its a little early to say it but its almost time to start warming up the Coach's Hot Seat. Tie game with 3.8 seconds left and Nebraska has the last shot and they came up with that jack worthless failed attempt at the end :what: That pass at the end to Roby down in the paint was a lame low percentage shot when Miles drew it up on the clip board. We would of much rather seen someone try a 3 pointer.

Hopefully they beat up on Iowa on Sunday. I think IA is way overrated at this point.

I disagree entirely with pretty much everything you say here. The problem with the play was a short pass. Had it been long enough, he would have had a wide open layup. Much higher percentage shot then a three. Duh. And hot seat? That’s pretty reactionary.

Hot seat is right. I don't like it either but it is the reality. We have seen this bad coaching act before.

Why with only 3.8 seconds left in the game would you throw the ball into a player running like crazy who was then supposed to pass the ball on a dead run to a guy clear up in the paint to try to take it to the hole. That pass had to be dead on for that play to work you know. The pass was a foot too low and 2 feet short leaving Roby holding the ball to low and to far away from the rim to even make a good attempt. The degree of difficulty to make a dead on pass like that at a run is incredibly high. Nebraska's odds would of been many times better if they would of just got the ball to Copeland or Palmer and had them shoot a 3.

I'd like to beat Iowa as well and was surprised how well they are doing. Only losses are in conference to MSU and Wisconsin, and now Purdue. Non conference wins aren't too bad, beating Iowa State, Oregon, UConn and PITT.

I would imagine Iowa is favored in this matchup but I doubt it will be more than a point or two.

Iowa is still overrated. There only really good win is IA state who was playing without their 2 best players. Oregon has lost 4 games since and Bol Bol, their best player is out for the season. Iowa's strength of schedule is terrible outside of conference play. According to cbs sports their non-con SOS is 250. 9 of their wins are against teams with rpi's of 150 or lower. So yes, their record looks good, but they also haven't played the caliber of teams that Nebraska or Creighton have.

Who they play, where they are ranked, who they have won or lost to doesn't matter at all until the end of the season.

TM is on the hot seat from the moment this season started and will be all season no matter what. He has to make the NCAA and probably win a game to meet the exceptions that he has, the AD has, and the fans have with all the hype this group of players have in front of them. Bill Moos as much as said this before the season too when the contract was discussed with Tim Miles.

Definitely a make or break year for Tim. That being said I have been really surprised how well he has been recruiting for the future.

I did watch it and it looks to be official now that Nebraska is going to be a bust. Nebraska was a 10 point favorite and make no mistake about it they could of lost this game. The offense is as lost as they were last year. This season will not end well. The stage is set for Nebraska to fall apart over the next month and not make the NCAA tourney again.

I watched it as well. We definitely did not look good. I wouldn't say it was a must win but it was definitely not a game we could really afford to lose.

Roby looked very good.

Was surprised we did not sub in the 2nd half. With the close road losses we could not afford to lose this game at home. Couple tough games ahead going to Indiana then Michigan State at home.

Nebraska just beat Indiana 66-51. Now they've got a real tough opponent in Michigan State coming up.

Nice road win for NU with Moos and Davison in attendance.
Started off fast with a 9-0 run but had a few scoring droughts.
Got up by 18 before settling for a 66-51 win.

Definitely needed that with Michigan State coming into town next. Nice to lead from start to finish. I still got nervous at times. Nice to finish strong.

Huskers are stinking the place up tonight. They keep saying this team is going to the tourney but I don't see it. The only offensive play this team has is to pass the ball around and then force a shot at the end of the shot clock. Nebraska's new athletic director got lucky having Scott Frost fall right into his lap but his real first test will be finding a decent basketball coach.

Game's over. Nebraska lost 70-64. Yeah, I'll admit they looked sloppy in the second half but at least it wasn't a huge lopsided loss like last year. Remember the Spartans destroyed the Huskers 86-57 last year.

The season isn't over. There's still more basketball to play. The Huskers can come back and win more games.

Nebraska just got whooped at Rutgers. Nebraska was a 10 point favorite and I just didn't see it. No way this team makes the tourney despite what the sports writers think.

I'm finally getting concerns about this squad. Why are most starters averaging 35 minutes a game? Bench points are single digits. Roby keeps getting stupid fouls and sits on the bench. When they are not up for a game, like when they played Creighton and Indiana, they just mail the game in. Palmer looks very tired from all his minutes and can't play like he should. They just went from a 5 seed to a team with a 3rd quadrant loss. They heard all the pre-season hype and aren't playing into the team with their first Madness win... I don't know what kind of relationship Miles has with Moos, but the thermometer just went frosty.

I think Miles plays the bench too much despite what that statistic implies. The NE bench is worthless and the only hope is to play Copeland, Roby and Palmer the whole game.

Palmer looks to have slipped a few notches from last year which most likely ends any hopes he ever had for a NBA career. Copeland does not look any better then he was last year either. The lack of any improvement of these two pretty much doomed Nebraska to a season ending no better then last year. Roby is the only one that improved over the summer although he still lacks confidence.

I would disagree on this one. I think we definitely should be playing both Brady H. and Tanner B. more. I've been surprised based on their play early in the season and during their spot minutes recently how little playing time they have received.

Ohio St handles Nebraska easy in Lincoln today. That was the straw that broke the camels back. There is no miracle that will happen that will get Nebraska to the big tourney. If Nebraska makes the big tournament I will BAN myself from this forum until Halloween! :grr:

After being tied at 38, Ohio St went on a 9-2 run, while Nebraska looked lackadaisical/uninterested until the 5:00 mark where they started to play and the crowd got behind them. Unfortunately that was when Ohio St was in full mojo mode, and NU could only get as close as 6 down. That OSU 3pt shot that hit the back iron, popped up and straight into the basket was killer.

By the time Nebraska is getting blown out the first game of the Big Ten Tourney they will be lucky if they are even being included in a NIT bracket.

The season was going to end ugly even with Copeland and now its going to end really really ugly.

I suppose that the genius coaching this team will now increase Watson's shots to help fill the Copeland void. That plan will be a sure fail.
