I was outside the stadium when the game ended, did they not have fireworks at all? I thought in the past they had at least a few.

The CWS was great this year between setting the new attendance mark, the games played and the weather, but it just isn't the same without the GA seats, opening ceremony and fireworks after the championship.

I did see that they changed the color of the LED ribbon after LSU won.

I agree on Opening Ceremonies, I definitely think that takes away from the event.

I know the nostalgia on the GA seats but I just don't think they are workable anymore. With attendance climbing so much I can only imagine how bad and early those lines would be before games. I think it would be a nightmare for MECA to manage and how many upset customers they'd have once they started turning people away. It would also be rough exiting from the day game with so many lining up for the night game. With the way everything has grown outside the stadium, I just don't think it's workable anymore.

As for GA seats, they did it for the first 8-9 years before Covid, where the people would line up and then after people left to get in line for the later game, they would allow people in the line to go in, that happened to me many times.

Yeah I have seen that. It's just with the stadium pushing capacity so much, once people started getting turned away, word would obviously spread that you needed to get their earlier and earlier to assure entrance. If the rising attendance trend continues, like I said, I just don't think GA is workable. Time will tell I guess.

Yeah, it was great! They actually limited who could run out there this year. it was like 1 from each team and 1 from ESPN.

College World Series breaks attendance record for third straight year

The annual Omaha event would have established a fresh high mark even without Monday’s if-necessary contest in the championship round, which attracted 24,878. The CWS final total draw of 392,946 and per-game average of 24,559 — across 16 games this month — are both the best in the 73-year history of the College World Series in Nebraska.

The 15-game 2022 CWS was previously tops in total attendance (366,105) and per-game crowds (24,407).

One thing I think they added since GA went away is standing room only tickets. I think this is how they get extra people in now that you no longer have GA.

This was one of the overall best to watch CWS I've seen in a good long while. Not to mention LSU fan base is rabid, and they were loud as can be last night. I don't much care for SEC schools, but LSU never bugged me. Good for them

Went to the Sunday game of the championship series and yeah....craziest championship series ever. On another note as it relates to CWS changes, I didn't notice any of the banner towing airplanes like have always been the case in the past. Maybee it was just windy but I don't know. Since I also haven't seen any flying around otherwise this week I am wondering if this is a new change as well. Anybody else notice the absence of these planes. Has the CWS requested the end of these kind of flights around the stadium?

I agree. I photographed 6 games and I believe I saw them at all 6. Back in the day it was always the woodhouse banner, but I haven't seen that one in years. I saw banners for Office West (A very solid hole in the wall bar), Bronco's, a roofing company, a real-estate agent, and I think there was one more.

OK...thanks. I am assuming they just weren't flying Sunday because of the wind. That was also the day where Florida hit about half a dozen homeruns so that makes sense.

Even had newspapers with 7 on it.

One thing I think they added since GA went away is standing room only tickets. I think this is how they get extra people in now that you no longer have GA.

Honestly the biggest reason I miss GA is because that was accessible to everyman. We could go to Bakers and get a $10 good for any game, yes sometimes we had to wait in line, but as a kid sitting in those outfield bleachers at the Blatt with my mom are some of my favorite memories. It was cheap, anyone could go to a game. No the fixed pricing just gives it a different feeling.

Again, I get it, I'm not going to poo-poo it totally, I just miss the personality out there.
