Syracuse LB transfer Stefon Thompson commits to Nebraska

Linebacker was one of the positions where Nebraska football wanted to add an instant-impact player this offseason, so the Huskers took to the transfer portal and landed one with plenty of experience and production: Syracuse transfer Stefon Thompson has committed to Nebraska following his official visit during the Jan. 5-7 weekend.

Nebraska Football Adds Glenn Thomas at Quarterbacks, Co-Offensive Coordinator

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule is adjusting his staff ahead of his second year on the job. Rhule has added offensive coach Glenn Thomas to the staff. Thomas will serve as Nebraska’s co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Huskers add 2024 walk-on tight end

Nebraska football added to its 2024 walk-on class on Saturday evening, picking up a pledge from Bloomington Jefferson (Minn.) tight end Danny King. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound King announced his decision on social media on Saturday evening. King has been on Nebraska’s radar for awhile, and made a gameday visit for the Huskers’ November matchup with Maryland. As a senior, King made 34 catches for 481 yards and five touchdowns. In addition to the trip to Lincoln, King also visited Boston College, South Dakota State and Minnesota. King held scholarship offers from Minnesota State and Sioux Falls before choosing the opportunity with the Huskers.

Philly CB Kahmir Prescott commits to Nebraska

The connection between Philadelphia and Nebraska has been strong since Matt Rhule took over as the Cornhuskers' coach, and the latest piece of it comes in the form of cornerback Kahmir Prescott. The one-time Wisconsin commit from Philadelphia Neumann Goretti announced he is heading to Nebraska next season. "A lot of the coaching staff is Philadelphia orientated," Prescott said. "Also, they are one of the schools that have been really interested in me from the start, and I feel like if a school is that interested in me and want me, I should take a shot.

Nebraska gains commitment from Edge Keona Wilhite on National Signing Day

Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic three-star Edge Keona Wilhite was one of the many Washington signees to depart following Alabama’s hiring of Kalen DeBoer. Wilhite decommitted and was granted a release from his National Letter of Intent. He took official visits to Michigan State and Nebraska. The Huskers edged out UCLA and Michigan State on signing day for Wilhite.

Pressure on Nebraska Huskers Freshman Quarterback Dylan Raiola?

Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers hold their annual Red-White Spring football game soon. And there will be a lot of pressure on incoming true-freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola who flipped from the Georgia Bulldogs at the last minute to join Nebraska football. Nebraska football is dying to get to a bowl game, something they haven't done since 2016. Rhule had a decent Huskers team in his first season in 2023. But they never could get right at the quarterback position. That's what makes the new 5-star quarterback Raiola so intriguing. Does Rhule let him learn under fire as the starter or does he ease the soon-to be 19 year old into the lineup? We will discuss that here and take your comments.

Montana transfer Vincent Genatone will be a Husker

Former North Platte athlete Vince Genatone will be a Husker, announcing his commitment to the Big Red after a campus visit on Tuesday. Genatone spent the first two seasons of his college career at Montana. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder redshirted in 2022, and appeared in 12 games as a reserve defender in 2023, making one tackle. Genatone held offers from South Dakota State, Southern Miss, North Dakota, and Northern Arizona, and received interest from Nebraska, Cal, Boise State, and Washington. Scott Frost's staff showed strong interest in Genatone, but ultimately never offered the athlete.

Genatone will have three seasons of eligibility remaining in Lincoln.

The Nebraska football team and 5-star freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola will show what they are made of Saturday during the Huskers spring game in Lincoln. Raiola comes to the Nebraska football team with a lot of hype and attention following his flip from the Georgia Bulldogs to attend Nebraska.

DECISION TIME
The biggest question regarding Raiola is when Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule pulls the trigger and makes Raiola his starting quarterback. It is rare for a true freshman to play immediately at a Power 5 program. But Raiola may be an exception. We explore several timelines Rhule may consider. This is a talented team that is on the doorstep of taking the next step and becoming bowl eligible.

College football showcases a bunch of spring games this weekend and that includes other Big 10 teams other than Nebraska. In fact, the Oregon Ducks, The Maryland Terps, Rutgers Scarlett Knights and the UCLA Bruins all take the field this weekend.

Then we saw Raiola perform in the annual Nebraska Spring Football game in Lincoln this weekend. He is the real deal! His poise, calmness and ability are not often seen in true freshman. The spring game at Nebraska has come and gone. And the Huskers have a star in the making at quarterback, if Saturday was to serve as an indication. Freshman QB Dylan Raiola showed well in his debut performance in front of a crowd at Memorial Stadium. Mitch and Connor assess that and give their takes on the newly stocked cupboard of playmakers on the offensive side. Also, Nebraska failed to escape the spring season free of serious injuries in this final scrimmage.

Ya hate to make comparisons so early, but it's already been stated around the Husker football realm... He is basically Patrick Mahomes. Same build, same throwing motion, same number, same haircut, same attire, same moves. Dude's even being coached by Patrick Mahomes. Dylan Raiola wants to be Patrick Mahomes. That should bode well for the Skers.
