Jays had a chance in this one. Up 1 with 30 secs left in regulation and Foster only made 1-2 (1-5) on the day. If he makes both and the team plays good D, this is a victory. He also nearly turned the ball over before finally heaving one at the hoop in regulation.

Epperson finished with a career-high 5 blocks.

"If if if", the story of Creighton these past years, unfortunately.

Another pathetic egg to add to the pathetic end of another pathetic crash to a year.

Living and dying by the three pointer, and wearing out at the end of the year needs to stop.

Next up, squeak into the tourney as a 10 seed, get blown out, rinse and repeat.

(Can you tell I am slightly frustrated? Haha)

I am beyond disappointed with the Jays continual season ending swan song.. swirling slowly down the drain..

Most likely one and done in the NCAA Big Dance.. Obviously, I’ll watch and hope the Jays can pull at least one tournament win out of the hat..

Starting to turn the focus over to the NU Football Spring game and NFL draft next month...

Guess we will never know. That ending was so poorly executed it was tragic. Tie game with 20 seconds left and Creighton has the ball. They give the ball to Foster and he starts to make it clear he is going to pretend he is LeBron James and kill the clock and then take a game winning last second shot. Problem is Foster is no LeBron James. Foster is not 6ft 8in like LeBron he is a rather small 6ft 3in. Foster kills the clock and runs up to shoot a jumper and they stuff him so bad he don't even get a legit shot off. Creighton had the last shot of the game and never even took it. Unacceptable. I don't think the coach called that play either I think Foster decided he was going to take the last shot. Foster lost the big game for them final answer.

The one thing to remember is that even the greats don't make every buzzer beater. Being a huge Bull's fan, I can tell you that Jordan missed quite a few. Sure he hit some memorable shots, but Foster himself has hit some big game winners. Last year it was his buzzer beater vs Xavier to allow Creighton to advance to the Big East Championship. This year, not quite as high key, but his buzzer beater @ DePaul prevented Creighton from having a bad loss on their resume.

I still think this team has a chance to win a tournament game, but that is probably about all to expect. Not great, but not terrible considering we lost our point guard, who at one time lead the nation in APG last year, as well as our agile 7 footer who could hit 3's.

Not trying to look forward to next year already, but I am excited, especially if Khyri decides to come back for his senior year. We only only lose Foster as a significant contributor. There will be Krampelj and Epperson to battle inside and I am sure that Ballock will be much improved over his freshman year as well. Plus we have an incoming point guard in Marcus Zegarowski who just scored 57 pts in his team's state tournament.

Epperson is getting better fast. It got down to about the last 5 minutes of the game yesterday and coach Mac was in a spot. Does he leave Epperson in so he can gain valuable experience for next season or does he get him out of the game before he screws up. I was thinking if Mac was a good coach he would sit him and Mac is a good coach and he sat him. Hindsight is always better but is sure looks like they should of started Epperson at the beginning of the season. Epperson is going to be real good by this time next year. Maybe even ready to bolt for the NBA.

Creighton is having a selection viewing party at Sokol arena today. Doors open @ 4 and show starts at 5. Some players and coaches are available for autographs afterwards.

Great showing for the Big East.

For the Jays, Foster gets to go up against his former school, so there should be some motivation there. The 5:50 PM start time on Friday is probably ideal for fans to be able to watch. Just sucks that second round would be against Virginia, which is probably the best team in the country.

I think it would be great for Marcus to finish his college career defeating his former team..

The NCAA really knows how to pair ‘em...

Still wish that CU had fallen a litter further. They seem to have gotten a bad draw in the 2nd round if they beat K State, they have to play #1 VA. I would rather be playing Kansas in the 2nd round. Teams like VA really make the Jays struggle, granted VA doesn't score a ton but they could probably beat CU by 15-20 pts easily.

I agree. I can only hope CU wins against K State..

Even though the Jays would likely lose, big, I’d still like to see them play Virginia...

They couldn't play Kansas, if they won they would come to Omaha. They wouldn't pair them against Nova and Xavier either, their only option was in the Virginia draw.

Mintz snd Alexander being from Charlotte is interesting though.

Nice to see a former Bluejay headed to the dance. Leon Gilmore and Stephen F Austin are in the dance. He is averaging 9.3 pts and 5 rebs per game. He was never really a factor @ Creighton in his freshman season, but glad to see him succeed.

Dean Wade, KSU's top scorer is listed as questionable for tonight's game, even if he plays, he may be limited due to a stress fracture in his foot. He has been wearing a walking boot, but did participate in the team's shootaround yesterday only taking set shots.

That would be something in Creighton's favor to start if he were out.

Kansas State hitting circus shots and dictating the style of play. Creighton can't get anything started.

Rinse, repeat.

Pathetic display by the Jays thus far.. Typical. Can’t throw it in the ocean.. And Marcus Foster ZERO, repeat ZERO points at halftime.. Even Taz is struggling..

I sense a lack of confidence and a wilting flower..

Just getting to the tournament is not really all that big of an accomplishment, we need to win. It's time someone put a fire underneath McDermott, he needs to reassess his strategies.

Another season cut short by a player getting hurt and the team not being able to adjust. I don't think we will remember how much progress Krampelj made in the off season, how integral part of the offense and rebounder he was this year.

'Let it fly' needs to die. It's fun at first, and recruits like it. But Jays run themselves into the ground by February.

Yep. Wilted flower. Pathetic overall performance..

I have so many things I could say.. But I’ll limit it to this- I’ve tired.. REALLY tired of this late season swan song act. The blame is on Mac. This team looked completely unprepared and played haphazardly from the beginning..

Again, PATHETIC...

Problem is, to use a comparison that Nebraska will seem to understand, we're in a "Frank Solich" type of situation. He wins just enough to where you can't really fire him but he'll never, ever, ever, get to the next level.

Unbelievable that Creighton looks dumbfounded again in the tournament. They come out so flat every year, no fire, no desire. There were no excuses. This was probably the last game for Khyri, and definitely for Foster. Neither of them brought anything offensively. Khyri played well defensively, but neither of them came out with any confidence and hit shots. In any of the big games this year that Creighton was in (on the road, that only happened early in the season) they came out with desire and passion. I don't believe I saw any of that on a single player on the Creighton team.

What makes matters worse is the fact that if Creighton would have won, they would be taking on the 16 seed for a chance at the Sweet 16.

At some point, it would be great for the Jays to get over the hump. I know it used to be great to just make the tournament, but I sense that the fan base is growing impatient and is wanting more. The good news is that next year there will be two more 4 star players in the mix with Zegarowski and Christian Bishop on top of the (3) 4 star recruits that are freshman now. One thing to remember is that next year will also be the first year without a MVC recruit on the team. This stuff takes time, there will still be some exciting times ahead for Creighton basketball.

Wow. The biggest gift of tournament history, and Creighton can't be a part of it. My mind is just blown right now I can't quite put it all in words.

What a waste of a year, again, but this takes the cake.
