3. Here you can see how wide the tower will be in comparison to the buildings behind it. So it will cover the woodman, but just barely.

Fantastic shot, Brad.
A 25-story on the old UP site and a 20-story hotel north of the convention center and this is a real legit looking downtown coming from the airport.

Also, great shot from Abbott, definitely takes me back to running around shooting the skyline back in the day. Will be exciting visiting in a few weeks.

Very Nice Pic Brad, thank you for the great effort, the tower crane is even perfectly perpendicular. I've always liked the "string of pearls" lamp posts leading from downtown Omaha to Eppley Airfield. That Abbott drive gives a good impression to people that leave to travel and a grand welcome back to Omaha. Even to me that I tend to travel out and return, I appreciate this presentation of Abbott and the backdrop of our wonderful downtown. With MoO rising in the background.Brad wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 9:15 pm From Abbott Drive tonight. Gonna need to remove that light pole... LOL

Small details of beautiful lamps like these matter, the more we continue to implement beautification around the core, the better the look and feel of our downtown will be.
When I've gone through the Des Moines airport, there's no grand welcome, since their airport is just hidden and tucked in by industrial and single family suburban culdesacs...
We are lucky that Eppley Airfield is built where it is because our visitors and residents alike get a good welcome back to Omaha and downtown is the first thing people see when heading south.
Home sweet, home...Omaha!

They're beautiful, but the city sure has gone through heck trying to keep them up. One year a bunch of them got blown out by a hail storm.Renovator2559 wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 7:01 pmVery Nice Pic Brad, thank you for the great effort, the tower crane is even perfectly perpendicular. Thanks for the update...good to see it from ground level with steel on both sides of the core. Gives an idea of what the overall building will look like.

Great shot. Based on my est, the height difference between woodmen and mutual right now should be pretty close to the final difference between mutual and first national.

Anyone notice that the front section of the core is slightly lower than the rear section. Wonder if they were able to raise all of it last week or if they are having some sort of issue with the mechanism.

120th and W. Center has always been one of my favorite views of the DT skyline from West Omaha. Masonic manor/Elmwood tower looks impressive from this location.zippy wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 3:30 pm I went to Topeka and back yesterday and noticed that it was visible from 120th and West Center in the morning and from around the Glenwood exit in the late afternoon.

Maybe that side is done and they're switching to just the highrise elevator shaft?

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
From this most recent video it looks as though the low rise tower is extended farther to the west on top of the garage, compared to what the link below shows. So, I’m guessing this is another revision similar to the top floors.

Didn't think much of this photo when I took it, but today I noticed some sort of grey finish material on the street level.
1. Also, I liked the photo Night Train posted the other day, but I wanted to see it with a slight gap between the FNBO and MOO towers, so here is that photo.

Yeah that dark color is definitely new. The lighter colored, almost white pieces with grooves that go almost halfway up are what I was talking about stating last month.Brad wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 5:07 pmI was talking about the dark color at the bottom. Looks like some metal stud framing is also going on inside the north side at the first “floor”.
