Tommy's Express Car Wash - Multiple metro locations

Tommy’s Express sign up in the Canfield Plaza near 84th and Center. Looks like it will be on the North West end of the property.

Does anyone know what the holdup with the 84th and Center location is? Literally the only carwash I am looking forward to and its had sign up for 2 years now teasing my they are "Coming Soon". They have had a building permit since September of 2023.

I am not really joking, but I think they only build one at a time in the area. As long as it has taken for the North Streams location has stopped up the plumbing. They do have actual opening soon flags for that location up this week.

The Tommy's being built at the North Streams (Hwy 6 & Q) development has seemed to be on pause. Other than contractors there for a couple of days about ten days ago, I am guessing I have not seen any activity for six weeks. I drive by daily, and it has become a check-in point for me to watch progress after it seemed like progress had stopped.


I heard rumors that there was an issue getting steel, and that is what looks like it will be next. That being said, with all the other construction going on everywhere, there doesn't seem to be a trend in the lack of steel.

This location actually made it to an opening. On Friday ( 5/16), when I drove by on my way home from work, they had signs up saying OPEN and FREE WASH. On Thursday, there were still a lot of contractor vehicles around it.

I can't recall which carwash, but the coming soon sign has been there for a couple years as well. South of Costco in La Vista.

Apparently they now have a building permit.

Tommy’s Express Car Wash has a building permit for a location at 8425 West Center Road. It will be constructed on a pad site in front of the Goodwill retail store. Tommy’s Express is a national chain with six locations in the metro area Four additional Omaha locations planned, including the 84th & Center location.

Their La Vista location near 108th & Giles has opened.
