2024 Wish List

[Doctor Fate]

I saw a very optimistic projection of fed rate cuts for 2024 by UBS, one of the eight bulge bracket banks, who said they are expecting rate cuts of 275 basis points. This was in December 2023. Also saw that Goldman, another one of the bulge banks, is expecting five rate cuts in 2024 starting at the end of Q1.

This could bode well for Omaha development along the streetcar line and in the core.

I wouldn't mind one, but I have a hard time thinking of a great place for one that would hurt the existing Asian Market.

I wouldn't mind one, but I have a hard time thinking of a great place for one that would hurt the existing Asian Market.

Haha, it's a hyperbolic suggestion, but Bellevue is far enough from Asian Market, plus it was two of my fave Korean restaurants, so why not? I think Offutt brings in a folks who would frequent something like H-Mart as well. I don't know, just making some far field wishes since we've had a pretty good year so far for development announcements. Haha.

I've been consistently disappointed with the food in Bellevue. Korean House was super authentic, but also authentically not great cooking. I've know soooo many imos that could accidentally do so much better. Same with Korean Grill. Asian Market's Korean Street food is phenomenal...

And then there is Umami. One of the worst sushi experiences ever. And not because of the sushi itself. It has potential if the owner wasn't obviously just money grubbing and running a 2nd rate Panda express that also has great formal sushi training.

Haha, I actually like both Korea House (reminds me of KBBQ in Hawaii and we've only been once several years ago and were the only customers there) and Korean Grill, though some of her recipes seems to have changed a bit over the last 10 or so years we frequented. My go-to there is the "baby back ribs" and catfish, if she has that. Korea House had the superior galbi/kalbi and meat/beef jun, but again more like the stuff I am used to from Hawaii. Also would comment that from what I remember that most of the banchan was not fantastic. Korea Garden was decent as well, but again only been there once or twice. Wong's Hunan is OK too. Haven't tried the Korean Street Food at Asian Market, but it's on my radar.

Anyway, maybe my added wish is more Asian restaurants opening in 2024.

I would LOVE this.

Fill in some of the missing areas a bit. Another KBBQ spot in the BWW or Chuck E Cheese's would be perfect IMO.

I want a AYCE K BBQ place here and by the Asian market would be awesome! I've always thought there should be more Asian restaurants around there.
