Re: QuikTrip Business News
I am guessing that all or most are in the immediate Omaha area. While slightly better than Casey’s, they have a long ways to go to be one of the better gas station chains.

IMO, I see a big difference between a Casey's built as a Casey's and the ones that were takeover conversions. No idea why it should be that way but the ones that started as a Casey's seem to be cleaner, better run, fresher, RTE food, and overall just more in line with what they try to be.skinzfan23 wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2026 10:50 pm I am guessing that all or most are in the immediate Omaha area. While I don't think QT is as good as it was a decade ago, its still way better than the converted Casey's and better than a lot of other gas stations. Back in the day they hired a bunch of friendly go-getters with good personalities. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I'm trying to decide if this happened when the started adding kitchens or if it started just before.

I agree with you guys. The built Casey's seem to be much better but the ones that were previously Bucky's are just not good. I usually go to either the Casey's or QT on 108th just south of L about once per week and neither one is clean. Usually the restrooms have a broken sink, toilet, paper all over the floor, etc. And each of them only have one stall and one urinal. It would be nice to at least have a few. I don't buy food or anything there, so I can't speak to that.

One Casey's that I think it flat out bad is on 21st off Cornhusker in Bellevue. It wasn't a Bucky's but I am not sure it was an original Casey's either. It's small, not well kept and seems to have an odor to it. My office is in Bellevue and I used to stop at this occasionally before heading home. I am not there much anymore as I work primarily from home now, but even when I am in the office, I quit going to this one. The Casey's off 370 that used to be a Bucky's is a lot nicer.skinzfan23 wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2026 10:24 am I agree with you guys. I know we are talking Casey's vs Quiktrip but honestly I think Kum and Go had them both beat. And Maverik seems to be doing well with the old K and G's.

I will add that overall the Casey's in small-town Midwest are way better than those in metro areas.Greg S wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2026 10:45 amOne Casey's that I think it flat out bad is on 21st off Cornhusker in Bellevue. With some of the takeovers, I wonder how much to do with staffing carryover and expectations, including original hire criteria? I assume these jobs have relatively high turnover, but some people stay a long time. It is much easier to establish a culture from the beginning than to change it. Especially if the manager and assistants are not new.

There used to be one in CB along Broadway, but QT sold it to K&G, at least ten years ago.nebugeater wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2026 12:32 pm Went to their Website, and it looks like there are 15, and all are in the Omaha metro. Filtered on Nebraska

Re: QuikTrip Business News
I have never been in a Casey's that hasn't had a wonky bathroom design or completely dirty inside and out.
Food is poor and fuel is generally more expensive than others.
Working in sales, I made it a point to never ever again stop at one (and, I had been to many both rural and city). I work now where it is the only game in town, and I still refuse to go there despite any convenience it may provide.
Andersons, QT and KS are far superior. QT made to order pizza and wraps are better than 80% of most dedicated chains.
Know what else is bad? Fat Dogs. My god that place is a rip.
Never understood the Casey's appeal.

Re: QuikTrip Business News
100% correct. there is only 1 Casey's in CB that I frequent that used to be a Bucky's that isn't a complete piece of trash. Otherwise, the Casey's that are legacy stores are better, even though still not as good as others.nebugeater wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2026 6:14 amIMO, I see a big difference between a Casey's built as a Casey's and the ones that were takeover conversions.
