My employer hasn't allowed people back in the building since March. They have told us we'll be given 30 days notice before we are asked to come back. So, any return to work is likely at earliest July 1st. At that time, they've told us to prepare for staggering peoples return dates, rolling schedules where you work from home some days and some days at the office, mandatory masks, and temperature tests. All of this in an office building where one can reasonably stay 6 feet from people outside of the time you are in the elevators.Omaha Cowboy wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 10:49 amAgreed..omaha79 wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 8:49 amIt's going to be really interesting to see if those who are so risk averse right now that they don't want to even leave their houses are suddenly just peachy keen to sit shoulder to shoulder in a stadium of 90k and flip out if they don't get that opportunity this year. Then, we'll find out just how scared people really were. If it gets in the way of their football, I see many changing from wanting everything closed and social distancing to "open everything right now! and where are my tickets?"
Hard to imagine the situation is going to change enough in 90 days to make a typical gameday at Memorial Stadium possible this year.
Can’t have it both ways. I’d suspect they’ll be some level of double standard hypocrisy here. We’ll see..
For the record, I think it’s 50/50 at best we have a college football season this year. If we do, it’ll likely be a modified schedule...

With those kinds of precautions in mind, I just can't see football being feasible. How does that water cooler talk go? "hey, do you have your mask on? don't get too close to me. oh, and me and the kids are going to the game on SAturday where we'll crowd in shoulder to shoulder with 90k people each getting 18 inches of wood bench...see you on monday, don't forget your mask when you come back to work!"
I can't see the requirements we may be asked to deal with at offices, restaurants, and bars, being feasible at a college or NFL football stadium. It would take 6 hours to get everyone through the door with social distancing and you'd have to keep half the stadium empty. And, it's hard to argue the precautions we'd be asked to deal with in the rest of our lives are necessary if you're going to allow something like this.
I think this season is dead in the water unless it's played to no fans.
