That's awesome, Owls closing the season strong. Just a few more matches left, but still enough to compete for regular season 1st place finish!

Owls’ offense explodes for four goals to take down first-place North Carolina FC

PAPILLION, Neb. (September 6, 2023) – A quartet of goals propelled Union Omaha to history as the Owls defeated North Carolina FC 4-3 Wednesday night. All eyes were on Werner Park for the high-profile match-up, as Omaha, tied for second place in points, hosted first-place North Carolina for the second time this season. For the Owls, Wednesday was a massive test that could have huge playoff implications down the line as Omaha looked to avenge one of just two home losses of the year.

The Owls will be right back at home Saturday, September 9 looking to extend the win streak when they face Richmond Kickers for Hometown Heroes Night presented by Woodmen Life.

Season record crowd of 4,046 on hand for Owls’ eighth straight victory

PAPILLION, Neb. (September 9, 2023) – Union Omaha evened the all-time series with Richmond Kickers thanks to a 2-1 victory at Werner Park Saturday. Saturday brought another opportunity to extend the streak against the defending League One regular season champions.

The Owls, still one point out from the top of the table, will head back to the road next week to face Chattanooga Red Wolves SC Saturday, September 16 before returning home to Werner Park Saturday, September 23 to host Central Valley Fuego FC for Oktoberfest.

Dominic Cascato named USL League One August Coach of the month

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that Union Omaha’s Dominic Casciato has been named the League One Coach of the Month for August. The first-year head coach’s recognition is the third such honor for Union Omaha, and it’s Casciato’s first Coach of the Month honor. The Owls were a perfect 5-0-0 in August, earning a month-high 15 points and were the only team to finish the month undefeated. Omaha’s five goals conceded were tied for the fewest on the month and their goal differential (+7) was the best in the league. Victories against Northern Colorado, Greenville and Knoxville, among others, propelled the Owls from sixth place to second – the biggest jump up the table on the month. Omaha’s five wins were tied for the most in a single month in league history (NTX, Oct. 2020), while its 15 points won were one shy of matching a league record for most in a single month (NTX, Oct. 2020).

Win streak survives with strike at the death by Joe Gallardo

PAPILLION, Neb. (September 23, 2023) – The winning ways continue at Werner Park, this time into double digits as a late match-winner pushed Union Omaha over Central Valley Fuego FC 2-1 Saturday. A week after locking in their fourth-straight USL League One playoff bid, the Owls returned home with more work to do to try and get closer to locking up a playoff-hosting position. Despite being eliminated from playoff contention, Fuego still had plenty of dangerous pieces to try and play spoiler on the night.

With the win, Omaha completes the clean sweep of Central Valley for the season and further extends the league’s longest win streak in history. Omaha takes the road again Friday, September 29 for another top of the table match-up with huge implications in the race for the regular season title against North Carolina FC. The Owls will be back at home for the final time this regular season Wednesday, October 4 to take on Charlotte Independence for Fan Appreciation Night.

The officiating Saturday was just atrocious, as was Central Valley's faux injuries. They'd get knocked over by the sneeze of a butterfly and the official would buy it every time and stop the game. Exciting finish though - second game I've been to this season where it was won in stoppage time.

Solid road point keeps Owls within a point of first place down the final stretch

CARY. N.C. (September 29, 2023) – USL League One playoff soccer will return to Werner Park after Union Omaha grinded out a shared point against North Carolina FC Friday. The highly anticipated match-up pitted top-ranked North Carolina against second-ranked Omaha, with a single point separating the two in the table in the tight race for the USL League One Players’ Shield. A win for either side would have proved crucial in the final standings down the homestretch of the regular season.

Still just a point out of first place with a game in hand, the Owls will be back home for the final time this regular season Wednesday, October 4 for Fan Appreciation Night against Charlotte Independence. The first 1,000 fans in stadium will get a free Rashid Nuhu bobblehead presented by Nebraska State Soccer. Omaha will then close out the regular season with two road matches before hosting its first playoff match at Werner Park. Depending on where the Owls finish in the standings, they will host a quarter-final match on October 20-22 or a semi-final match on October 27-29.

Steevan Dos Santos explodes for Owls’ first hat trick of the season

PAPILLION, Neb. (October 4, 2023) – A strong three-goal performance in the second half propelled Union Omaha back to the top of the table with a 4-1 victory over Charlotte Independence Wednesday night. The Owls came into the contest searching for sole possession of first place, just a point back in the tight three-way hunt with a game in-hand, looking to put a stamp on their regular season home campaign for the season. In order to do so, they would have to defeat a challenging Charlotte side that just clinched its own playoff berth and would be on the quest for securing a hosting position.

The Owls will return to Werner Park for their first USL League One playoff match, which will be a quarter-final match on October 20-22 or a semi-final on October 27-29, depending on where the team finishes in the regular season.

It was cold AF on Saturday! Union had several solid chances to score but could never get it to the back on the net. Getting anything going on the left side was also seemingly impossible. The best chances came with Dos Santos, Acoff, or Gaillardo crossing from the right side, but often Dos Santos couldn't get any timely upfield support when he tried to cross it.
