Just what city needs and perfect for that grassy area north of the Embassy. From a marketing perspective, the more such brands land in Omaha, you better believe their competitors will take notice.
My money is on exactly this scenario.
Are you referring to The Foshay? A building built in the 1920's, 32 stories and 448 ft, with an observation deck at the top? Are you referring to your money being on a W with the same interior vibe/energy?

One interesting note is that The Foshay was converted to the W by Ryan Companies, who were Mutual's partner on Turner Park East at one point.

That’s what I couldn’t figure out, the building is huge and historic, Omaha has nothing like that.

But if you are referring to the vibe (I haven’t been to Minneapolis since 2022 so I don’t know firsthand) but that will be nice.

I’m fairly certain a W hotel will not go at this site location; but as a 3rd anchor for the convention center/arena? Yes, along with Omni- which would be a stellar brand to bring into Omaha as well…

They are taking soil samples in the empty field on the south side of the Mercantile building.

Cowboy said that the Cryptic Rumor Department had info of a new to market hotel going here that would be 12 to 20 stories. That was months before the new optional location for the T3 office building came out. Maybe the 12-20 story hotel will be the Drury?

I doubt it was the Drury. Wasn't that hotel rumor specifically about The Mercantile and a higher end hotel like the W?

Is it possible the other rumored hotel could potentially go on the land the T3 building doesn't end up on?

The rumored location was at The Mercantile but there wasn't a specific brand mentioned. But you're right, it's possible the hotel goes on whatever spot the T3 building doesn't.

Yep. Here's Cowboy's thread New to the market hotel in The Old Market. It was specifically about this parcel, but not a particular hotel.

Yeah, I linked that thread in my first comment. Would love a W at The Mercantile and an Omni on Lot B.

Here's the quote about a W at The Mercantile, it was from Jan 2023:

Love to speculate here..

I really think there will be a hospitality component to whatever plan the city decides on at this parcel..

The long standing “word” for several years is that a W Hotel will be the hotel component of The Mercantile development. As recently as last week, I’ve heard the same thing..

So if there is a W Hotel going up at the Mercantile, I wonder if the hotel component for 1416 Dodge could be an Omni Hotel??.. I stayed at the flagship Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas during the Christmas holiday a couple or so weeks back and damn, it was impressive..

Before anyone thumbs their noses at the mere thought of Omaha landing both a W and an Omni, I say why not? We could support both- and what a feather in the cap this would be for our downtown core…
