An excellent vantage point (yes, Lafayette, just west of the Oakland Ave intersection), especially for an early morning shot this time of year. If someone is up before the crack of dawn, and it's a clear sky to the east, the sun reflecting off the top half of the First National Tower before the sun rises above the horizon lights the First National Tower (and Woodmen) up like a Christmas Tree on fire. Very cool effect. I'd snap a pic, but my camera isn't in working order right now.

I see you two dodged the hail storm. You know this makes me wonder why the UP calendar never has DTO in its shots. These shots are very good.

Oh no... we were just lucky it was small. however we did a lot of car photography I would take a picture, then I would turn the car around and Eric would take a picture.

Speaking of vantage points I notice the Martha St. bridge had a nice one. It could even be taken with a real urban/industrial feel or however.

I totally agree..And it would be a much more expansive view than the usual ones from the main post office or even the annex..

Here's one I took a few years ago with my Holga (for the uninitiated, Holgas are 120mm "toy" cameras...that is, they are made almost entirely of plastic). It would look better with a longer lens...and probably if the bridge was 100 feet or so higher.
