Re: 34th and 1st Mixed Use Development
From the renderings, they look pretty cheap. I hope I’m wrong. I can imagine them covered in that old cheap cement-fiber siding.

Re: 34th and 1st Mixed Use Development
I've always been surprised with new developments, and especially being along an old rail line that CB hasn't leaned more into the industrial look. All of the townhouses, etc. that are being built up (including further down by Hy-Vee) and other developments have a similar look. I appreciate the new type of housing but don't know that design-wise it makes sense. I guess maybe I just like all the brick around the TJ area and the bank across the street pulling in a more cohesive appearance than how I feel some of these proposed developments seem along this trail.

The apartments are really coming along. They topped out on the 4th floor for the first building and the 2nd building is at floor 3

I love the density and energy this is bringing. It will increase the momentum to getting a streetcar line down 1st Ave. And getting that line will bring more development along the corridor.

It's the two buildings for apartments, the townhouses, and a couple of spaces on Broadway for retail/restaurants, right? Does that mean no additional large apartment buildings and just the ones being finished up? I'm hopeful that more happens along First Ave/they connect the trail all the way to DT CB

Condo's/townhomes are out! I inquired about the condo/townhomes and was told they are going a different direction. I'm assume more apartments. I did not ask about the retail/restaurant component of the project.
