Completely agree on Curtis and Garcia!nebugeater wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 4:17 pmHe was out of practice on Thur. Back Friday. Did the early shoot around and then was back in the locker room throwing up before the game
The hidden positive is that Frager got a start and played over 20 Min. Curtis and Garcia also saw a lot of playing time, and this could be valuable time as the conference and NCAA tournaments approach.
A little bit of lost momentum in the middle of the second, but overall a satisfying win. Sanford was on fire for most of the game, ending with a career high 33
Now we need to see, then rinse and repeat on Wed night against Maryland

Good for them after a win is not adequate. If you can’t come with something better you need to retire stagburn it.

They made it a Nebraska weekend this year with the men and women playing back to back days. Would love to see this happen again with the women now going back for the next two years. Nebraska basketball has been great for Sioux Falls selling out the games up there:

Nebraska, Creighton and UNO all played yesterday. Went to Pauli's Ak Sar Ben and watched the UNO (CBS Sports Network) and Nebraska (BTN) games simultaneously. Then followed that up with the Creighton (Peacock) game.

Revenge for losing to Iowa at their place.
Even though Iowa is not the highly ranked aponant it has the chance to be the best atmosphere this year

Great win, especially when you factor in a road game on the left coast.
14th Conf win. New school record, and there are two games left in reg season to grow that,
Pryce Sandford had 5 Threes for the game, bringing his season total in B1G play to 75. Five more and he will own the record for Most threes in a season on Big 10 Conf history.

The second half IMO, they looked like they did before the Mich loss and illness that has been running through the program. To me, with Sam out much of the first half with fouls and his return in the second, it showed once again how important he is.Greg S wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 9:50 amI agree. It will be interesting to see how the awards fall out. There can be arguments made for more than one player/team being deserving. The one that I will stake my opinion on, though, is if Fred H is not B1G coach of the year, I have no idea what people are looking atGreg S wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 4:20 pmAbsolutely. Rankings as of 3/2
The Huskers are #9 in both the AP and Coaches' polls this week. Up from 12 in AP and 10 in Coaches.
In both cases, they are by point total closer to #8 than #10

CBS Sports story from the preseason
Huskers 14
Michigan 2
https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... p-players/
Here is what they said about Nebraska in their breakdown
Breakdown: A healthy Rienk Mast is a problem. The Nebraska big man just makes the Huskers go as a pick-and-pop weapon who can score inside and out and pass the ever-lovin' cover off the rock. Fred Hoiberg is one of the best offensive masterminds in college basketball, and he will have at least one dynamic shooter on the floor at all times with Pryce Sandfort or Connor Essegian. Nebraska also smartly loaded up on a cavalry of playable big men behind Mast, highlighted by Central Michigan transfer Ugnius Jarusevicius and returning junior Berke Buyuktuncel, who can be one of the best defenders in the league.
Ultimately, guard play could determine whether Nebraska is dancing. Jamarques Lawrence is primed to get the first crack at that ultra-important role.

Past my bedtime, so I didn't watch or listen. Doesn't look like I missed much with the Huskers losing 72-52. Quick look at the box score this morning, and it is beyond ugly, just move on. A loss was not a suprise but the way it looks we lost was
