That dunk by R2 was amazing, he also had a great reverse layup, the game clinching 3pt shot and hit FTs and another to seal it. What a great game by the Ryans, everyone else didn’t do much.

Back to 3rd in the conference

What a win! What a great defensive effort from Rati there at the end.

Phew! The rollercoaster continues!

Huge HUGE gut check win for the Jays this afternoon. With AOC out down the stretch with an ankle injury, Rati’s play and defense in crunch time was KEY. Nice games for R2, Ryan, Hawk and Trey Alexander.. Great to sweep Marquette. Both games this year with the Golden Eagles were down to the wire (the Jays won in Milwaukee in double OT back on January 1st)..

Massively big win by CU defending home court :thumb:

What a big win. I think 2 more wins and the Jays are in the tournament. All 5 starters finished in double figures. Over 18,000 people in the building and no one left until the end (as it should be).

On a side note what a huge weekend for the CHI center, sold out wrestling meets of 18,000 twice daily, over 18,000 for the Creighton game and the annual President’s Day volleyball tournament in the convention part all weekend. Must have been over 135,000 people in the building since Thursday.

Let’s just hope AOC’s ankle injury isn’t too serious..He looked like he was in a lot of pain when he went down; but came back out and joined the team toward the end on the bench…

Creighton finally getting a tad bit of respect with one vote in the AP poll, which added another joke when they ranked Iowa #25. Iowa lost to unranked Michigan at home but did manage to beat Ohio st on the road (which was their first win against a team ahead of them in the big 10 all season) and they were able to move up?

Creighton on the other hand has swept Marquette, 1-0 against UConn and split with Nova.

Edit: Rutgers who just beat 4 ranked teams in a row and only lost on the road to #5 Purdue isn’t ranked.

Agreed..

I can’t stand either one.. I have always had respect and actually like Jay Wright however. Although I LOVE when the Jays beat him and ‘Nova…

Same here, I love beating Nova, but I fully respect Jay Wright. After watching the ejection from yesterday...I can't believe I am saying this, but Hurley shouldn't have been ejected. He got thrown out because he was getting the crowd pumped up....the refs totally blew that one.

Uconn coach gets ejected for pumping up the crowd

During the college basketball game between Villanova and Uconn, Uconn head coach Dan Hurley was given his second technical foul of the game and was ejected after he pumped up the crowd. Yes you read that right. He was given his first technical foul after passionately arguing about a missed call from an earlier play. After being given the technical foul, he turned the crowd behind him and pumped them up by swinging his arms. The refs did not like this and gave him another technical foul, which is an automatic ejection. Uconn leads Villanova 54-50 in the second half.

MBB Minute – UConn Edges Villanova in Hartford, Three Games Set for Wednesday

In a back-and-forth top-25 showdown, No. 21 Connecticut’s R.J. Cole came up clutch on both ends of the court, first knocking down a contested layup with 5.9 ticks left to give the Huskies a 70-69 advantage over eighth-ranked Villanova. Defensively, Cole forced a turnover with 1.1 seconds left to seal the 71-69 home win.

Yep. Sounds like he’s out for the season per the radio broadcast. Sickening bad break for R2- who was really playing his best basketball of the season..

Special mention also to Hawk- who had another big game with 25 points and a clutch bucket in crunch time..

Good to see Kaluma back…

Hawkins has been otherworldly for the Jays, I think we'd be lost this season without him at critical junctures.

We need Trey and Rati to step up big time in Nembhard's absence. Trey I think is already doing that, but hopefully Rati can take it to the next level.

Men's Basketball Earns Gritty Road Win at St. John's

Trey Alexander had a career-high 16 points to help offset the loss of starting point guard Ryan Nembhard as short-handed Creighton won its sixth straight game, 81-78, over host St. John's on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd.

What a great team win. Hawk with another double-double, Kalk with dunks FTs and blocks, Trey with the composure and making shots in the second half and Kaluma with a nice all-around game with 12pts and 6 boards and hitting the 3 and the layup to get us the lead back.

I just hate to see R2’s injury, it seems like all too often the Jays lose a player to season ending injury. Mo Watson, Martin krampelj just to name a few.
