Haha that ESPNzone map made me laugh. Why show the whole country when your two locations are like what 40 miles apart tops?

It makes no sense to me to build a new "entertainment zone" out at crossroads. I agree that any focused entertainment/dining/etc development would be much better spent on north downtown/capitol district (they're close enough that they could essentially be contiguous, aside from the freeway slicing through the middle).

Why this is continually compared to the P&L District is beyond me. All I see in these proposals is the same thing you'll find at most of the West Omaha strip malls, lifestyle centers, heck, even the outlot restaurants at Westroads. Furthermore, I can see how turning a retail mall into a dining/entertainment mall would make it any more stable. Restaurants are usually much more risky than retail. If the place were to take off, what would keep it from turning into another dead mall once a couple places closed and caused another momentum of fleeing businesses.

I had no idea that ESPN Zone had crashed so hard. I only have visited one (Denver) but enjoyed it quite a bit.

The people presently doing the planning (not the ESPN/HardRock map) have an entertainment area in mind partially with UNO in mind. I'm not sure how much business they are thinking would come from there though. Seems to me they overestimate.

How long has that 1/2 Price clothing store been at Crossroads? It must of moved from the strip mall with Big Lots.

I noticed 1/2 of 1/2 in Crossroads a couple of weeks ago. I want to say 1/2 of 1/2 was preparing to move out of that strip mall a couple months ago so it could have been a while.

I remember when my friend and I used to ride the bus to go to Crossroads and eat in the food court. That was probably around 2005 and I was a kid then. The food court was thin but still going. There was a Dairy Queen, and a Burger King maybe. I always went for Sbarro.

Although I don't have memories of the mall before then, It seems to me like it really fell off after that time.

I haven't been in there in almost a year and at that time the north wing was completely dead, the west wing was around 50%, the south wing was less than that, and the east wing appeared to be alive and well.

I remember doing some Christmas shopping at the mall with my family. This was probably 1998 or 1999. The mall was still going strong then. I remember it being very crowded then. It seems like it fell off hard not long after that.
