Xavier just hit a 3 at the buzzer to tie it up….3OT is coming. The Wyoming/Colorado state game that was supposed to be on only has 12 min left….in the 2nd half.

Not that we didn't already know, but Creighton did confirm that Nembhard is out for the season and is having surgery on his wrist.

The one potential semi-bright spot (for lack of a better term here), is that I think the current roster (providing Arthur and Alex get 100% here soon) is more capable of withstanding a blow like this. The key, again, is Trey continuing his growth and for Rati to continue to step up. It'll be tough, but I am hoping it doesn't lead to a tailspin that injuries have lead to in past years.

Yes, this year's team is prob able to withstand it more than past teams. There are more options and the experience will be great for the younger guys. The 2 guys we can't afford to lose this season would be Kalk and Hawk.

Men's Basketball Closes February With Test at No. 11 Providence

Bluejays seek seventh straight victory

Creighton (19-8, 11-5 BIG EAST) brings a league-best six-game winning streak into its final road game of the regular-season when it visits No. 11 Providence (23-3, 13-2 BIG EAST) on Saturday, Feb. 26.

This is going to be another big game. Providence has the chance to secure their first conference title in school history (seems crazy that they don't already have one) and the game is sold out as well.

Hopefully they have fixed the leaks in the roof and we don't have to sit through 3OTs like their game on Wednesday. That game started at 6 and didn't get over until 9:30.

That was a bad game, as usual the Jays played bad on the second game on a road trip, I hate the Big East schedule with always playing 2 on the road and 2 at home. I don’t know if they need to switch up our road routine but we always play lethargic in the second game.

Kudos to Providence on the win. I really like Ed Cooley, especially when he got on the PA mic and told the crowd that they are classy and to stop their |expletive| after someone threw a beer can onto the court with a min to play.

Can’t say I was surprised with the outcome. The short-handed Jays hung in there with Providence for most of the 1st half.. But fell apart in the 2nd. About the only bright spot was Hawk recorded his 11th double-double..

Congrats to HC Ed Cooley (he is a class act) and the Providence Friars for achieving their first ever regular season Big East conference championship…

Daniels helps No. 11 Villanova top No. 9 Providence 76-74

If the shot-for-shot battle down the stretch between Providence and Villanova was a sneak peek of what's ahead in March, Madison Square Garden may be in for quite a show.

Caleb Daniels scored 20 points, Eric Dixon added 15 and Collin Gillespie 14 as No. 11 Villanova beat No. 9 Providence 76-74 in a fantastic Big East matchup on Tuesday night.

The jays were up huge and let the lead slip away, hopefully they can get some energy and hold on in this one. Kaluma was on fire in the first half.

Chalk it up to an unreal 2nd half for Kalkbrenner- 20 second half points (22 overall) with 10 rebounds. A man’s man effort..

Short handed, it’s incredible. The Jays win 64-62. Rati with a fantastic defensive effort. 20-9 with one regular season game left against Seton Hall..and locking up a Big East Tournament 1st round bye. The Jays are now 5-0 vs UConn..

Great, GREAT win. I’m drinking a celebratory beer :thumb:

Creighton being 5-0 against UCONN is just so mind bogglingly awesome.

Great bounce back win after the poop show against Providence. Have to close out strong against Seton Hall.

I agree. Even with the injuries and a few frustrating losses, its been a great season! Disappointed I am missing these last two home games.

What a great team win. Kaluma in the first half and then Kalk in the 2nd. Glad to sweep Hurley and UConn.

Need the guys to get some rest and be ready for Hall on Saturday.

In thought the Jays were in before this game but this solidified it.

That first half was so exciting last night....in the video the Coyote posted above with the highlights, the 3:05 shows the screen that Kalk set that layed out the UCONN guy. Right before that they had another player injure his hand....not that I like to see someone get injured, but that was a crazy few min stretch there where everything went the Jays way.

I have to say, the job McDermott has done this year in getting all of the new pieces to come together like it has, has just been masterful. In my wildest hopes, I honestly didn't think we had a chance to actually head to the NCAA tournament this year, and kind of expected maybe an NIT year. Simply awesome.

Just now have to hope for a strong finish here and good showing in the Big East Tourney

I think I stated this months ago, my hope for this season, was a 15-17 win season and a strong NIT seed..

Never did I think, especially with all their injuries and youth, the Jays to achieve yet another 20 win season, tied for 3rd in the conference, and a 1st round bye in the Big East Tournament..

This Jays team has all but notched up an NCAA at large bid..and have FAR exceeded my expectations. This season has definitely been a coaching masterpiece for Mac. Now let’s see if the White and Blue can rattle some cages as March progresses…
