Me too. I really liked the initial idea. I think we can guess what pricing will be, and for that reason, I'm out. I've been asking the real estate developers to keep me updated, but it seems like they don't care. All the info I can find comes from this forum or from their Facebook page.

As someone that lives next to this development, I don't see this ever panning out to be anything but a lazy commercial park.

Residential lots are supposedly fully sold out already. With very minimal marketing...

I think that it's just the premium lots close to the church that are sold out.

I think that it's just the premium lots close to the church that are sold out.

That is what the real estate person told me the last time I heard from them, which was a year ago.

Residential lots are supposedly fully sold out already. With very minimal marketing...
I'm sure someone knows but don't they normally get five or six home builders and sell all the lots to them? They basically sit down and do a snake draft and pick the lots that they want until they are gone. It is hard for a regular person to directly buy a lot and bring in their own builder or build themselves.

The story I saw said the fire was in the roof above fire suppression system.

Man, I live right by there and didn't even know about it. I thought I heard sirens the other night but wasn't thinking much of it. Gonna have to tear down an entire section that's been going up for years now. Also would make potential residents wary of wanting to live there.

I drove by it yesterday, the fire appeared to be only on the roof, but the floors below probably have substantial water damage. I’m sure the winds made this worse than it would of been. Really unfortunate.

Wonder if anyone has heard more about the fire and the cause. For a building to catch fire like that when no one was living there seems awfully suspect of the build quality and I think would give potential residents some hesitancy in living there. Also curious if they're having to demo that part of the building and rebuild.

I heard the sprinkler system wasn’t activated yet. Also the fire had a big head start before someone noticed it.

Mahogany and Charleston's are moving to Heartwood Preserve, just south of the new Union Bank building. Lockwood is going to remodel and look for new tenants to lease out their current spaces at FNBO and BOTW business parks. Mahogany was built as a Red Rock Canyon restaurant and they really want a new place that is built to Mahogany specs. Apparently the other Mahogany restaurants are even nicer than the Omaha location. I didn't hear why Charleston's wanted to move.

I'd like to see ORBT bus extended out to Heartwood once it becomes fully developed. Then it would be a convenient way of getting from one "Old Market" to the other, leaving the car in one place.

Just south of that old grain silo on 150th there is enough land for a stop, however there really should be a massive Park N Ride at a West O ORBT stop. So maybe a stop at 150th, and put in a huge Park N Ride near 180th (or 192)? They would need to add several more busses though to keep the times Rapid.

No idea why Charleston’s would want to move. They have million dollar visibility sitting along side the freeway right now. On some days you can even smell the food!

Not sure why either, seems like a great location they have right now, whenever I'm there the place is usually packed. Unless they want a bigger restaurant, although the current one is good size by Omaha standards.

If I had to speculate I’d guess because someone bought up that property for redevelopment (since it’s pretty expensive property for a restaurant)…

The new restaurant is in the Lockwood Development in Heartwood. Lockwood purchased the old restaurant location. Lockwood is going to renovate the old restaurant and hopefully lease it out to a new restaurant.

They were going to have to close down for 6 months to renovate the current location. When the opportunity came for them to have a brand-new building, they jumped at the chance. They'll be giving up West Dodge frontage but they won't have to be shut down for 6 months, which they really wanted to avoid. After Charleston's leaves, Lockwood Development will renovate their current building and then lease it to a new restaurant.

Is this the same area where there was a fire before at a construction site? I thought it was Heartwood Preserve but perhaps I'm thinking of something else.

I live in the area and drive by everyday. There has been zippo work being done since the fire. I am not surprised, but am concerned what this means for this parcel. Developer is not a huge entity, from what I can tell, and figuring out who pays for the damage could take a lot of time. Heartwood has had a lot of set backs between this and the centerpiece AU's HQ delays.

I have walked by this a bunch this summer and it doesn't look like they've done much at all to fix that building. Doesn't even look like they've taken down any of the damage yet. It wouldn't surprise me if they tore it down.

The Drover sat burnt for 12+ months while insurance worked it out.
Heafey Hofman sat burnt for 12+ months while insurance worked it out.
Butternut Building sat burnt for 12+ months while insurance worked it out.

Good point. They did have some people coming in at first but insurance would probably stall the work.
