Adam and I both have CU Media Passes so we will both be there. However anyone can bring in a camera to the game. Creighton, UNO, Storm Chasers, and Nighthawks all allow cameras, Lancers are the only team with restrictions.

Organ transplant for new ballpark

http://omaha.com/article/20110305/NEWS0 ... w-ballpark
Christopher Burbach WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:The music will have an old familiar sound when College World Series fans stretch in the seventh inning at Omaha's new ballpark downtown.

TD Ameritrade Park will not only have live organ music for “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” An organist will play that classic and other music on the same old organ that has provided the soundtrack for NCAA championships and minor league baseball games at Rosenblatt Stadium for more than 60 years.

It article said he was still "retired" but it also mention that Lambert thought it was going to be some "new electronic" organ so may be since its still the old one he will come back.

Looks like they were starting to put in decking for the third tier seats today. They were installing exterior accent lights as well. It's going to look incredible when the curtain finally comes down in just a few short weeks. One thing I am curious about though is that I never quite knew what those white Plexiglas looking boxes are that line the exterior walls. You know, the ones that look about 1/2 the size of a boxcar. The are at least 4 of them on the outfield side wall and several others along the sides and fronts. Are those lights of some kind or something else?

Simply answer seems just for aesthetic purposes, but I also wonder if maybe that would be were supports would go for a stadium expansion in the future. They have said it could hold as much as 35,000 if expanded maybe just planning ahead to make that process easier when/if it happens? That is just me guessing though.

I drove past the stadium this morning on my way to the airport (around 5 AM) and noticed the lights about 10 feet off the ground on the east side of the stadium. They sort of stuck out from the brick about 10 feet off the ground and were absolutely crystal clear. I was sort of amazed as long tube florescent lights look pretty normal, but these seemed to be white/clear LED lights, or something similar.

I believe these white Plexiglas box you mention also add natural lighting for the restrooms.

Thanks, was last downtown on friday but didn't see that will have to check at it again. By the way it kind of begs the question why didn't they decide to spend a bit extra to get regular seats up in that area?!?! It would have looked a lot better.

I noticed them going in on the first base side. The gates and fencing is also going up. Scoreboard was on tonight as well as most accent lighting.

Coming back east into downtown tonight on 480 the accent lighting looked really cool, especially in conjunction with the Qwest Center lighting.

I had to run down to the Qwest center earlier, here are a few crappy Cell Phone pics of the Trade.

1. Concrete barriers are slowly going away:

2. Sign on Cuming is working:

3. TD Is up above the scoreboard:

4. Not sure what this wood fence is, but I would assume its temporary. There is a power line running in to it.

Put a camera on a bicycle (or get permission to use a golf cart) and come across the Bob Kerrey bridge. It's a spectacular view as you come to the crest...
