Grand Island Rumor Mill

Good Life District in Grand Island is definitely not smooth sailing. Now, to be fair, the Connestoga Marketplace is part of the Good Life District and that seems to be going well, minus businesses figuring out who to report their taxes to. The northern section of the GLD which is north of Capital Ave is in a mess. The city wants to move forward but accuses Woodsonia of not being reasonable in their offers for the land. Woodsonia says that the city has ghosted them and not willing to work with them. It's a classic he says/she says. The City Council will be discussing the issue again at the May 12th meeting. Side note, since its election time again, the candidates have jumped in to speak their mind on the issue which has been interesting to watch. We will see what happens. Though I have said many times... "This is why Grand Island can't have nice things". Something always gets stuck in drama or bureaucracy.
