Sickening loss for CU. Absolutely sickening..

Those are about the only words I can conjure up…

To continue on- I’m proud of the Jays. They fought their a$sses off..and the game is decided by a ticky-tack foul call by the refs at the end..But, my sick to my stomach feelings aside, Had CU been just a bit better on the defensive end, especially in the rebound department, they would have won this game by 8-10 points..

Again, I’ll give Aztecs credit..But this is just a gut punch sickening loss to have to take…

Yes what a great season. Proud of the guys to make the elite 8, I felt like we had a great chance to beat FAU to go to the championship game

Wasn’t somewhere to watch the game so went by what was coming across sports app. So shooting 12% from 3 pt after shooting much better from there the last 2 games - hurt them. Was that due to to sdsu defense or just creighton didn’t have it today?

I’d say it was more the Jays just had a cold shooting day from behind the arc..although SDSU’s defense did contribute to some of it…

Really tough loss, but also an amazing tournament for the Jays. Elite Eight is a great and rare accomplishment unless your a perennial BlueBlood program. It is a bummer they didn't get to the final four, but in the end they just didn't sink enough shots in the second half.

San Diego State vs. Creighton - Elite Eight NCAA tournament extended highlights

San Diego State defeated Creighton 57-56 on a last-second free throw by Darion Trammell to advance to its first Final Four in program history.

They ended up having a wonderful season after their mid season slump.

Agree, very up and down season, but they really finished strong. Tough loss today but that shouldn’t take anything away from the season.

I personally am upset, because I thought they had a great shot to get to the championship and would prob end up playing UConn for the title. Think most fans would rather have seen that than the current final teams

Creighton posted that the team plane is arriving at 10:15 tonight and will take a bus to campus. Hopefully they will have another time this week for fans to thank the players and coaches for a great season. Kinda hard at 10:30 on a Sunday night

True statement there..

We’ve seen this team take an incredible journey this season. I remember saying here, after the Jays lost 6 in a row, if they could just stack a couple wins in a row together/defend home court- they could get back into contention in the Big East..Then they exceed expectations and ran off eight straight conference wins. After Xavier bounced them in the Big East Tournament, I doubted they could get past the 2nd round in the NCAA Big Dance.. Then they exceed expectations again- reached the Elite Eight, and fell one measly point short of the Final Four. Yes, quite the journey the Jays took us on this season. I couldn’t be prouder of this program..

I can’t help but wonder how many of the starting 5 will return for next season. I’d love for all.. We could definitely have an “unfinished business” theme for 2023/24..

But part of me thinks at least 2 might be eyeing something else. Man. I hope I’m wrong…

One crazy thing to think about....for once there wasn't a significant injury to any starting player.....when is the last time that has happened?

Yeah- the biggest “injury” was Kalkbrenner battling through mono and missing time during the 6 game losing streak…

What a good run! Making and competing fiercely in the Elite 8 is a huge stamp to the end of this season, though it's been cut short.

Wow thank you to both of you for posting the article and video. Both amazing to see what it’s truly all about. I am super competitive especially when it comes to sports but moments like this live to stay in the players minds forever and to help them go on to bigger and better things throughout the rest of their lives.

Coach Mac is an amazing guy. I have stated it over and over but he truly is one of the best coaches and people in college basketball. I have spoken with him several times and he always makes you feel welcome.

Going to update this now that the tournament is over:

CONFERENCE RECORD WIN PCT%
ACC 7-5 .583
American 2-2 .500
Big 12 9-7 .563
Big East 12-4 .750
Big Ten 6-8 .429
Mountain West 5-4 .555
Pac-12 3-4 .423
SEC 9-8 .529
West Coast 4-2 .666

The Big East dominated the tournament and despite what Izzo said about the Big 10 beating up on each other, it couldn’t be more apparent that happens in the Big East as well. UConn had 8 losses in conference and went 17-0 outside the conference, all double-digit wins!
