He is going to be one of the highest paid coaches in the Big East and Top 20 in the country.
I noticed it didn't have an extension. I just assumed they were keeping that private, just like they do with his salary.

Fast Start, Clutch FinishLeads No. 10 Men's Basketball Past Villanova

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- An early barrage from three-point land helped No. 10 Creighton earn the No. 2 seed in next week's BIG EAST Tournament with a 69-67 victory over Villanova inside Wells Fargo Center. After CU squandered a 24-point lead, Trey Alexander delivered the dagger on a basket with 0.2 left.

Creighton begins the postseason on Thursday night at the BIG EAST Tournament presented by Jeep, where it will be the No. 2 seed and play at 6 p.m. Central at Madison Square Garden in New York City against an opponent to be determined.

Yeah, blowing a 24pt lead in the Big East would generally result in a loss. They let up and never got their sh1t back together. Hope they don't make that mistake again in the upcoming tournaments.

Don’t really think they let up but early on all the shots were 3’s and they were falling. Then they stopped hitting. It’s like fools gold. Thankfully they got the ball inside to Kalk some later.

IMO, the Jays should be in the conversation for a 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament- especially if they make it to the Big East Conference championship game..

Are their 8 teams in college basketball better than CU right now?..

I don’t think so…

I agree they should be a 2 seed, especially if they make it that far in big east. No doubt a 3 seed at the worst.

Jays moved up 2 more spots in AP...thought there was a chance they could go higher with IA St, Tenn and Arizona all losing.

#8 is where they are now.

Ashworth Wins BIG EAST's Sportsmanship Award

Creighton senior Steven Ashworth has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award. He is the second Bluejay to be recognized with the honor since joining the league 11 seasons ago, joining 2021 winner Mitch Ballock.

Tough game for the Jays tonight. Battled back from 13 down and actually lead but only to miss 3 consecutive FTs and upset the game away.

At least I can live a normal life the rest of the weekend and not stress about a game.

It was a turd of a game. Hope they got it out of their system before NCAA. Still, representative of the hot/cold nature. The most consistent trend is that they absolutely lose when they don't get Kalk involved from the get-go, and last night was a prime example. For those few minutes when they closed the gap and took the momentary lead, all I heard from John Bishop was Kalk - Kalk - Kalk.

I’m glad I played basketball last night instead of watching. Sucks that they went 20-20 and then once tv showed that stat, they missed 3 in a row when it mattered. Obviously they aren’t expected to shoot 100% from the line but Kalk missed front end of one and one and Trey missed both of his when the lead was back and forth.

I really thought Creighton had a great shot at making the championship game. Providence hasn't been the same since they lost Bryce Hopkins for the season. Marquette doesn't have Kolek for the Big East tourney (though they are still hoping to have him back for the NCAA's). Then with the way the Jays are playing the last few weeks, I figured we'd be at least 50/50 to beat UCONN and win our first Big East Tournament.

Was hoping for a game in Salt Lake City, mostly because airfare is much cheaper from Omaha. I have Thurs and Fri off and was thinking of going but the cheapest round-trip is almost $900 which is pretty high for a domestic flight. Not to mention, hotel, food and game tickets it could add up really quickly. Crazy how Creighton is a 3 seed and has to travel over 900 miles and Akron is the 14 seed and is only 110 away.

Just a bad year for the high seed since there aren’t any other Midwest sites hosting besides Omaha.

Definitely. The NCAA likes to throw some spice in with their regional seeding matchups that’s for sure..

Happy to see the Jays snag a 3 seed..

Disappointed the Big East only got 3 teams in. They should have had 5 and I could argue even 6..

But this was an unusually wonky conference tournament year with several upsets which effected Bubble teams that would have normally received a bid..

Let’s hope the Jays can do some damage this year…

They were talking about this on the radio this morning. Consensus seemed that the bottom of the Big East is so bad it dragged the conference down (obviously the top of the conference is strong with 3 good seeds). DePaul obviously is the worst of the worst. Living off the 80's and haven't really been relevant since. They really should consider themselves fortunate to be in the Big East. They are lucky they got invited back in 2005. Seton Hall losing big in first round of the tournament did them in.

Yeah DePaul and Georgetown brought nothing to the conference. It is crazy that St Johns didn't make it. I believe their NET ranking is 32.

This year's bracket is absolutely bonkers, and not in a "omg, it's so quirky! wow, March!" kind of way. It's just straight ucked up.

I know that there are a ton of great players out there, but Kolek made 2nd team and Newton from Uconn made first team. Baylor is better than Newton is almost every single category.

Man, I thought selling the Omaha March madness tickets for a huge gain would be way easier. I was trying to list them as all-session on tickpick but no one is buying.

If anyone would like to buy them, just let me know, I could save you a ton on fees....even if it is just for single game.

Men's Basketball Beats Akron in NCAA Tourney Opener

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- No. 11 Creighton closed the first half on an 8-0 run and never looked back in a 77-60 win over 14th-seeded Akron in NCAA Tournament First Round action at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Thursday afternoon. The Bluejays improved to 24-9 with the win and will play on Saturday against the winner of this afternoon's game between Oregon and South Carolina. Akron ends its season with a 24-11 mark.
