Ill be sure to report if I do. Most likely will only go there on a road trip, as I hardly spend any time west of 120th. Even then I always gas up at one of the stations on 72nd between Benson and I-80.

I'm half-southern (Atlanta) and the odor of boiled peanuts should be listed in the Eighth Amendment.TitosBuritoBarn wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2026 1:37 pm I went to one in Tennessee recently. I continue to stand by my previous remarks about them and will add that the coffee is |expletive|, and it's weird to me that a place specializing in southern-style snack foods does not have boiled peanuts for sale.

The more I hear about Buc-EE's and their corporate bullying tactics, the less interested I am seeing this chain come to Nebraska. Suing little mom and pop convenience stores that have been around for 30 years for having a beaver logo as soon as they come into a state.
Not that I've ever gotten excited about a gas station coming in, but this feels like rooting for more Wal-Marts to come into your city.

You know damn well that if we didn't have Walmart here that people would line up for the opening of the first one.omaha79 wrote: Thu Aug 06, 2026 9:35 am The more I hear about Buc-EE's and their corporate bullying tactics, the less interested I am seeing this chain come to Nebraska. They'll go after Cubby's once they open here, on the grounds the round emblem, red lettering, friendly looking animal mascot, and a name ending with an "ee" sound are influenced by aspects of the Buc-ee's brand. Mark the date. I too am far less than jazzed about it now.

They already tried to sue Omaha's Bucky's convenience stores like 8 years ago. Bucc-ee's lost that one.

At one time there was a photo floating around the face space and insta letter showing the starting wages for all the Buc-ee’s positions. Was that legit? The pay seemed really high for a company suing tiny mom and pop gas stations with a beaver logo.

Re: Buc-ee’s (southeast of Interstate 80 & Highway 31) Gretna
I have seen this several times and I just pulled this from the internet, but I also found an article with a little lower starting pay of somewhere around $17/hr.
Associates: $20–$25 an hour
Team Lead: $23–$28 an hour
Dept. Manager: $33 an hour
Asst. General Manager: $125,000 and up
General Manager: $200,000 to $275,000 and up
I know that KwikStar/Kwik Trip pays their employees decent salaries as well and it shows. On a related note, the pay for Casey's can't be that great with the people they attract.

After thinking about it, I think these Buc-ee's lawsuits are getting very close to the "Eleanor" lawsuits. The "Eleanor" lawsuits got really messy, too.

Re: Buc-ee’s (southeast of Interstate 80 & Highway 31) Gretna
Should we really be welcoming this company to Nebraska? Recently watched the news and find it disgusting and abhorrent that this company aggressively goes after small mom and pop shops simply because they use a cartoon animal character as their logo. Gretna needs to think twice here of letting in a company like that. Plus it’s a Texas based company that doesn’t really fit Nebraska cultural values I think.

Re: Buc-ee’s (southeast of Interstate 80 & Highway 31) Gretna
Buc ee's has been doing this for a while. They have been getting more national attention for it recently especially now with the Ohio story. I speculate that a lot of these didn't get much coverage trough the years other than local. Now that this has changed it is likely Buc ees will reevaluate the cost / benefit of these suites and they will back down on the ones that do not really matter

What started me to keep an eye on these was this lawsuit: https://www.kcrg.com/2026/08/06/conveni ... ilarities/

On some level I think these lawsuits are simply pro forma to demonstrate trademark protection, not that some random gas station beaver is actually infringing.

Is it? It seems as though there is a line and they’ve certainly crossed it into the absurd. The backlash here can’t be worth the potential trademark protection benefits.almighty_tuna wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2026 8:26 am On some level I think these lawsuits are simply pro forma to demonstrate trademark protection, not that some random gas station beaver is actually infringing.
