Since the new restaurant has no legal connection to the former restaurant at this location I would suggest that a brand new thread be started.

Sadly, I forgot it was even open. I remember hearing a Lo Sole Mio replacement was coming, that they were calling it Mio Italiano, and that it had opened, and then I promptly forgot it existed and never went. Though, one of the things that likely led to me forgetting it existed was nobody talking about it and that's not a good thing if you're a new restaurant and want some buzz and word-of-mouth marketing.

I really wanted to go here, but just didn't make it. They really didn't do a great job of advertising. I think in todays age, you need to have a good social media presence, and I am not so sure they did.

We just typically don't go out for Italian food and especially Italian American. I went to Lo Sole Mio 20+ years ago with my high school girlfriend and coming from rural Nebraska, I thought it was pretty good. Went back with my wife in the past 10 years and my tastes have grown since then so it was good, but nothing mind blowing.

I feel like a lot of the old school Italian and steak houses only kept going due to their clientele having more basic tastes than people do nowadays. Now that the world is so connected, we have actual Italians going "No, that is not italian food and whatever your nonna was making was strictly American."

I never made it there. It’s not close to where I live, and while that fact in and of itself isn’t a good enough reason to keep me from visiting they never seemed to advertise and I frankly just forgot they existed. Plus no one I know ever said they had eaten there.
