Who knew that former Mayor Jean Stotthert had a podcast in KFAB called the Comment Line.

I heard on the radio that $500 million was spent on the race for U.S. Senate Texas seat. Half a billion dollars. That's nuts. Oh, just wait until 2028 , a presidential election year. It'll all be multiple times worse.

This last month or so whenever I wanted to watch a YouTube video, I'd have to sit through a political ad that I had no interest in whatsoever. They were about 15 seconds long. And the worst part, I couldn't skip them! It was really frustrating. Hopefully after today, I won't have to endure that anymore.

It is not a podcast eexactly. She is live M- F, 10- 11 AM, doing interviews and calls. The live show is then streamed later as a podcast.

It was well covered in this thread last March when it launched

it's over. Thank God, it's over.

Living in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro, enduring TWO states' worth of slander & libel for months on end is unbearable.

Serious question, where does that money go to? I imagine it's something like:
Companies to create the digital ads and create the paper mailers.
The tv companies to show the commercials
The agencies that spam our phones
The post office for the mailings

Is that correct or is there a darker path for the money?

Or is the darker path related to who owns those companies that produce and distribute the ads?

How much does a 10 second commercial cost? $500 million dollars isn't a number that I can understand.

I would truly like to know how much Von Gillern paid in political ads. There were some days in the past few weeks where I'd get multiple mailers about Cindy Maxwell-Ostdiek and how bad she is. I know it's not just Von Gillern's campaign, but also PACs that are funding it. They were really scared that our state legislature would lose their supermajority.

Oh and not to mention how many yard signs both Von Gillern and Harding have in West O.

I counted the blocked numbers in my phone, and it was just short of fifty. The overwhelming majority were blacklisted due to election spam.
