I agree, that is a fantastic view. You also get a great view in the rear view mirror driving east on Douglas.

Here is a couple of update pics of the middle building from yesterday. Great to see glass and steel framing going in.

Closer look.

I'm not sure what the correct terminology is, but how do they go about placing the siding on buildings?

Sounds like one of the tower cranes is coming down this weekend.

The closure will last until 6 a.m. Monday. The street closure is needed so that a large tower crane can be removed from the Midtown Crossing construction site.

What exactly did they have to tear down to build this project? I showed my mom pictures of the project and that was the first thing she remarked about.

Hmm...you guys apparently are not from the neighborhood -- they also tore down the beloved House of Lee Chinese restaurant and a KFC. I hope Mutual gets new restaurants in place to replace them.

How did you know that I got all philosophical and tried to get out of debt by starting my own fight club. I totally punched myself in the face.
Going by MTC today they are starting to put exterior walls up on the west side of the main building.

I am not sure what building is the "Main Building" but it appears that there is exterior going up on multiple buildings and the middle building has it all the way to the top of the one elevator shaft. They are also erecting steel on the south side of Farnam.DTO Luv wrote:Going by MTC today they are starting to put exterior walls up on the west side of the main building.

I believe that's the building that the movie theaters will be in. I seem to recall that the theater building and hotel/grocery buildings were going to have steel skeletons. They are also erecting steel on the south side of Farnam.

The complex is moving along nicely. I assumed that the buildings would look much taller, but non the less, very nice.

Hey!!! I know; I hadn't been over here forever! How are you, and people like E-Omaha, and StreetsofOmaha?! Are you guys still over at Skyscraperpage.com? I literally have barely glanced at that site/forum since almost three years ago... That's OK to leave it all behind; I don't hardly have time enough for many sites anymore. However, I was visiting Chicago recently (LOVE that town), and had no idea until barely before I went, that they have built a Trump Tower there. I was amazed by it. And, they are building the Chicago Spire soon. Skyscraper-wise, I've been totally "out of the loop" it seems...Stargazer wrote:Wow! Where the heck have you been?

Hey, Grid! Great to see you on here. I'm great. I know what you mean with the time crunch... I've been so inactive photo-wise, and I RARELY check skyscraperpage, let alone post.
I'm looking forward to a new start this spring, and getting back out and about to take photos and post threads.
