Omaha-lincoln bullet train

Post by Cmicah312 »

What if we had a bullet train run from omaha to lincoln? We would be able to get to lincoln in about 15 to 20 minutes! I think we should stop this nonsense of a light rail. I believe it won't work, not like a bullet train. We already have the infrastructure of tracks from Union Pacific. All we really need to do is get the stations built and the trains ordered. We would be able to connect the cities in such a great way that we would grow along I80 and the tracks faster. I believe that it would get so much use that compared to now that the interstate will be a ghost town. While the train in making money for the cities we save money up for building a mag-lev train system and see the travel time cut by half. But why stop there? We could take it down to Kansas City, or Denver, or even Minneapolis. Imagine living in Denver and being able to work in Kansas City.
I'm curious about what others in the area feel about it and if it would be a good idea or not? Please leave a comment I was thinking about starting a omaha based company (of course i have no experience or know-how, lol.) and this one of my five project ideas for eco-tech in omaha. If you want to know what kind of other ideas i have leave a comment. (Im just a person who is interested in city planning and not politics.)
