Saw a post on Mayor Hike's Facebook page today that referenced the below article and the update today was that in a search by their Legal Department they found records showing that they already own the ROW that for years they have thought the State owned. If true they are thinking that could jump start their plans.

Bellevue quietly completed a corridor study for Fort Crook Road, a 2040 plan.

According to this updated plan, City of Bellevue has intentions of making this a full blown BRT/multi-modal transit corridor. There are specific redevelopment sites picked out with adjacent BRT stops; Childs, Avery, Herman, Kenney Gate, and Fairview. They have identified possible alignments with dedicated BRT lanes and protected bike lanes all down the corridor. This only lays out Bellevue's desires for the corridor, nothing concrete. However, if Bellevue is serious about this, we'll see them formally join OMetro ahead of everyone else and making steps toward getting BRT and multi-modal infrastructure constructed.

The way they envisioned this evokes elements of Ft Collins' BRT (the Max). I like the dedicated lane concept they presented.

I live off of Fairview Rd, that would be an exciting development, although it would take a lot to get there.

This is definitely, merely a 'plan', at this point, but I am glad the City is showing some ambition with having true BRT lanes and protected bikes lanes through the corridor.

I also live at 75 and Fairview. It would be interesting. Definitely a few hurdles with the flood plain, etc. Hope something happens though.

Interesting they are finally talking about razing Southroads in this plan. Can't see it happening any time soon, but it should.

Here's an update on this potential multimodal corridor. MAPA issued an RFQ in connection to a transit study of the corridor to assess the environmental and economic feasibility and economic impact of the plan outlined in the Fort Crook Road 2040 plan. Responses are due in March.

Sweet. This would be a great way to reconfigure this corridor. I will caution that it likely needs a little more more density adjacent than shown in the initial plan to maximize it's effectiveness.
