Papillion-La Vista school district vote on multi-million-dollar bond
Papillion-La Vista residents will vote in early May on a nearly $130 million bond issue to go towards their schools. On Tuesday, the Papillion-La Vista school district voted to send the bond issue to residents. The money would assist with several things including building a new elementary school, updating older schools, adding safety and security improvements and several more uses. The steps to move forward for the bond issuance of $129.9 million has gone on for several months. This included informational meetings, online feedback from residents and Q & A's with the district. Residents had a chance to speak at the meeting, but the decision was ultimately a yes and now it will go before the residents in a special mail in election in May. The last bond issue was in 2018 for $109.9 million.
