Does anyone know if Ronald McDonald house, Rainbow House (Children's hospital), or a Veteran's home take donations of a few hundred DVDs and music CDs? I would think that clients would like to have a library on hand while they're staying.
I've also heard that Omaha Book Recovery accepts discs in addition to books, but I wonder about their business model vs an actual charity.

Goodwill takes them. They told me they usually sell them online to fund their job training centers.

You'd be amazed how good some DVDs can look on a good TV with a little upscaling if you haven't tried it.
Especially if any of those DVDs have never seen a properly upscaled release.
Not much you can do for some though. Especially anything in 4:3

We still use DVDs quite a bit and they look pretty good with a blu-ray player upscaling on my 77" Oled tv.
We use the dvds mostly in the car where the screens are probably only 10" and you can't even notice any difference.
