Kind of a crazy video I stumbled upon, on YouTube. Seems to be primarily under the Brandeis building.

I always thought the Brandies was luxury condos. I never knew it was sitting on top of a shithole. Is that subway and other restaurant still open?
I thought YouTube deleted videos of criminal activity?

There a ton of these type of videos on YouTube. Abandoned malls is a popular topic.Toto wrote: Thu Oct 02, 2025 2:37 pm I always thought the Brandies was luxury condos. I never knew it was sitting on top of a shithole. Is that subway and other restaurant still open?

There’s another one where they go through the Fairmont Creamery and it looks rough to say the least.
It also kind of worries me that if kids are figuring out how to get in there’s a good chance the homeless may be as well and where there is homeless in abandoned buildings there’s fire.

Brings back a lot of memories. Spent a LOT of time in there over decades.
When I worked downtown, you had to be in line at 11:10 or earlier to be able to eat at Athenian Gyros. Everyone lined up in their suits and trenchcoats. Great burgers. I miss Mandarin Express, they had the best orange chicken.
They places I remember:
Tacos 2
Shin Duck
WC Franks (short time)
Subway
Mandarin Express
Eileens
Vics
Little King (there were 2 at one time!)
McGregors Garden
Athenian Gyros
There was a jewelry repair place, a convenience shop a southern fried chicken place as well, coulple others I can't recall.
And yes, I'm surprised that building hasn't rusted and collapsed into the ground.
They built out that Dollar General pop up location, but it was supposed to be a sports bar. They sunk a lot of money into building the phyiscal bar only to remove it. Never opened.

Yeah it did look like others had been in there.nebport5 wrote: Fri Oct 03, 2025 11:36 am There’s another one where they go through the Fairmont Creamery and it looks rough to say the least.

The two areas that really got my interest, was where it looked like there had been underground offices, @ 3:05 , and 10:31 n the video. And the abandoned escalators, @ 12:40 and after.

Casa Bella Pizza
New York Burrito
I never understood how Shin Duck survived - there would never be anyone there. But yeah, Athenian Gyros would be 20 people deep.

Re: Downtown Omaha Underground Video
Around 1984 I'd go from Central with a friend to eat on the Little Kings that was on it's own not in the food court. Grab a sandwich and play Galaga with a friend. Simple, but looking back on it, great times.
I also remember if we didn't have time to go home after school and there was an event at Central, walking to the bus station that had a Burger King in it.
