Some potentially good news. 4 star/5 star recruit Jaxon Richardson is expected to announce his decision this Thursday. 247 sports just predicted Creighton. According to on3 he is also projected to come to Creighton.

He would be the highest ranked recruit ever for Creighton (#17 ESPN, 21 on 247 and 25 on rivals) His dad is Jason Richardson who won 2 slam dunk championships in his 14 year NBA career.

Not a surprise. With the way the Jays season was going, I thought it was 50-50 Coach Mac would retire after this season..

Wow, thought that might be coming.

What a great coach and even better person. I have mentioned it before but when my son had cancer we were offered to sit with the team on the bench and meet coach Mac in the locker room. He gave the halftime speech about my son. But the amazing thing is, each year on the pink-out game, when I see him, he still remembers and asks how my son is doing.

He will be missed!!!!

Yeah me too. Here's to Creighton going on a deep and winning run in the Crown. Send him out on a high note, and create momentum going into next year.

Next year's recruit Katrelle Harmon is staying committed to Creighton with the coaching change.

Jaidyn Coon, the other recruit, is opening back up his options. Still possibly with the Jays, just hope he doesn't flip to IA where Ben Mccullom is coach (he is from Storm Lake)

Isaac Bruns, 6'5" guard that played for South Dakota the past 3 seasons is rumored to be transferring to Creighton. Averaged almost 21 ppg while shooting 39.% from 3. Also averaged just over 5 rpg as well.

Ty Davis entered......its like a dream come true. The guy is a nice kid, but really shouldn't be playing high level Div-I ball.

I really loved Zugic, but for whatever reason it hasn't really panned out. He has had his moments but avg 5 pts and shooting 30% from 3 isn't great. I still remember the SI article before the beginning of last season saying that he was a going to be amazing and headed to the NBA, clearly that is not happening.

Jays got a commit from Oswin Erhunmwunse who's transferring from Providence. 6'10" 235lb. He'll be a junior next season

That is huge, should be a huge upgrade over Freeman.

We recruited him before he went to Prov. He avg 7pts, 8 rebs and 2 blocks per game. He did really well against the Jays this past year (which is a no-brainer with the players we had) He had 14 pts, 13 rebs and 8 pts 11 rebs in the 2 games.

Blake Harper has now entered the portal. Thought he would be a bit better, but he didn't do much except in the UConn game.

So far, Harper, Freeman and Davis are the only ones leaving.

Kerem Konan and Liam McChesney are also entering the portal.

I thought Konan did some good things and could have improved, but really any loss with Liam since he didn't play at all.

Shatel’s latest story mentions that Creighton has around a $10 million NIL budget. Nebraska has doubled their spending to be at nearly $8 million. I think both schools are set up nicely with those numbers although Huss mentioned that Owen Freeman wasn’t getting anywhere near the numbers rumored that he was getting this past season.

Jays just added 7’2” juco defensive player of the year Wesly Rosa. Averaged 8 pts, 9.6 rebs, and 3.7 blocks.

Also added the 58th best transfer prospect in 6’2” Wes Enis from USF. He averaged 16.5 pts, 3.56 Rebs and 2.4 asst. He was 23rd in Division 1 for 3’s made this last year. He was Div II All-American the previous year.

Seems like some underrated guys coming. I like this bc guys like this usually play really hard and tough trying to prove themselves. Creighton has always needed guys like this.

Jays added BJ Davis from San Diego St, another good guard.

These rankings don’t mean much, as was the case with CU last year but right now Creighton is #14 on the transfer portal rankings!

Continuing to add more players....this time 6'2" guard Kayden Edwards from TCU, didn't do much this past season as a Freshman but he was a Top 50 recruit out of high school.

Jays are now #12 in the transfer rankings.

Just to show how crazy the portal is, Antwaan Jones who started his career in 2018-19 at Memphis and reshirted and played at Creighton is entering the transfer portal. He is going to be 27 at the end of May. That is crazy to be playing college ball at 28.

Yeah, it seems crazy to me too! Evidently with NIL + university payroll, staying in college athletics as long as possible is a very attractive path these days.

Yeah I saw that yesterday when I renewed. It was in a previous email, but somehow I missed it. Kinda crazy, but that is the world of sports these days. For me it was only about $37.

I used to want Omaha to get the NBA in here, especially after the Seattle SuperSonics fled Seattle and settled in OKC as the Thunder. But not anymore. Today’s big time
College basketball world, the Creighton Bluejays are Omaha’s professional basketball team…
