Re: Manhattan’s Deli Closing
Bummer. I never made it in to try the place.
The downtown/midtown eateries are always so out of my way at meal times.
Also, does anyone think "...to keep our 18th & Farnam location open" implies they have more than one location?

It's the type of places that sounds better than what it actually was...maybe slightly above cafeteria food. While, I can imagine most of their business came from an early "rush" from adjacent businesses, I never saw many people in there even in pre-construction days.
"It's just a rendering."

An even more alarming message on their website: "Due to the nationwide shortage, we are currently out of tomatoes. Sorry for any inconvienence!"

This is somewhat legit. Restaurant service prices for tomatoes are, from what I've heard, are through the roof right now.remline wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 4:24 pm An even more alarming message on their website: "Due to the nationwide shortage, we are currently out of tomatoes. Interesting. Was at Restaurant Depot on Tuesday before they closed to get some greens to freeze-dry for our daughter to use with her Kids. Happned to look at the tomatos and there were plenty of cases and the price was about the same as when i bought late last summer to supplent garden tomatos to finish some things we want to do.almighty_tuna wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 4:33 pmThis is somewhat legit.
