The new CHI Health Clinic planned in Council Bluffs will offer primary care, along with a rotating cast of specialists, an official said Tuesday.
The new facility will replace the current CHI Health facility on Madison Avenue, with those employees moving to the Valley View location. According to the Council Bluffs Building Division, the new facility will be 38,844 square feet, compared to 8,960 at Madison Avenue.
“When you look at the site you’d think that,” about flooding, she said. “But we’ll build up a little bit. We’re on a flood plain, but so is the majority of Council Bluffs. That’s not a surprise. We have no problem moving forward.”
Dirt work is underway on the site, with a formal ground-breaking planned for March 19.
Baber said the company expects the new facility to open in the spring of 2019.
