RAYGUN

Post by Otown88 »

Raygun clothing out of Des Moines tweeted out that they are opening a store in Omaha and looking at the Old Market, Blackstone, or Benson as possible locations. Also mentioned that a handful of Des Moines restaurants are also opening Omaha locations but didn't mention any names

The "Hippie" crowd enjoys overpaying for this type of clothing while enjoying a few local IPA's.

But I'm with you, these used to be called "boutique shops" that you would see in a kiosk at the mall.

It really doesn't look that expensive. $23 for a graphic tee is not unreasonable.

RAYGUN, raised $582,000 in angel funding from undisclosed investors on January 15.
The company is a Des Moines, Iowa-based e-commerce platform selling printed apparel, home, and kitchen items. In addition to printed t-shirts, the RAYGUN’s online products include drinkware, paper products such as postcards, notebooks, and gift bags, stickers, ornaments, and towels.

Michael Draper founded the company in 2005 by selling t-shirts on campus at the University of Pennsylvania. He moved back to Iowa after graduation to learn screen printing and opened RAYGUN (originally called SMASH) in Des Moines. The internet retail company now has a design studio, screen printing shop, and wood working shop. The company has stores in Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Kansas City. RAYGUN sources the shirts it designs and prints from a fair-trade supplier in California, and other products are also made in the USA.

It took them a while, but Raygun finally found a spot in Omaha. 1108 Jackson St., across from the Jackson Street Book Sellers. They plan to open in late spring in the 5500 sq. ft. space. A great addition to the Old Market, particularly for this business strip.
