For all you infrastructure crazy members, Lincoln is wanting to build an elevated roundabout, that just looks ridiculous as a rendering. Does anyone know the point of this thing?

It definitely looks unique, but honestly it seems to be the best solution I've seen thus far to address that triangular cluster

I used to live near there and had to pass through that intersection many times per day, and I can tell you it's an awful intersection. It sees tons of traffic and is quite dangerous. Their redevelopment plan, while a bit unorthodox, is pretty much the only way to handle that particular intersection of three unaligned major thoroughfares - within a constrained footprint.

This project has been shelved. Bids came in too far over budget.

The bids came in 'round-about $40 million. Needed to come in 'round-about $30 million.
