As many know, Bulu Box is a startup from Lincoln that sold subscription boxes for vitamins and other health products. They recently rebranded as Bulu Inc., representing a shift in their business model. They recently acquired private label subscription contracts with Disney, Lego, and other multi-billion dollar brands. Relatedly, they are transitioning from a startup to a profit focused Company. It's good news for the Lincoln community and the region. Here's a good Q&A with the founder:

Re: Bulu Box to Bulu Inc.
Paul Jarrett spoke to one of my class in 2017 while I was at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln doing my undergrad. He spoke multiple times about how they were trying to use their lean structure and agility to predict and stay ahead of market treads, indicating they had multiple strategies to diversify their revenue streams. Paul is a great asset to the Lincoln/Omaha startup scene and is a really personable guy. After the class, we met a couple times to discuss a business idea that a friend and I had, and he even agreed to partially fund the venture. More people like him who get out and cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in others and made people proud to be in/from Nebraska are needed.SPN: Was there an “aha” moment that led you into the private label Subscription Box model?
PJ: There was a time about three years ago that I realized the way we were running Bulu Box wasn’t working. Our customer acquisition cost was getting too high and we were burning cash fast. My co-founder and wife Stephanie, and I had a kid on the way, and I was nearly losing my mind trying to figure out how to make the business work. I felt like we were sitting on something big, but I didn’t know what it was. As a business, we were doing everything correct, but clearly, we were missing a key component.
