They’re already in the neighborhood, so one assumes they have a customer base. This location will give them more space and better parking.

I see. That's good to hear they are still in the generally area of their current location. Love Tasty Pizza!

You’re right, of course, about the space and parking. But part of me will miss the uniqueness of their old Leavenworth location.
My old signature got too old. So old it was getting almost as old me as me. Yeah, it was up there in years.

The original location will still be open, they are just opening up a second place.

A second place? They’re only about ten blocks apart each other. I can’t see this as a good business plan!

Love Tasty Pizza, it's my current favorite in Omaha, but yeah, this new location is so close to their original location, I don't get it. I'll have to ask the owner next time I see her. Parking and/or more indoor seating might be a big part of it, but that doesn't explain keeping both locations open.

Heh. :) I would describe the crust as medium thin or even just "thin." Just goes to show you how people perceive things differently. But the overall flavor, chewiness, and plentiful toppings combine to make just the right pizza for me. A downside to the small-ish place is a lack of indoor seating when the joint is jumping. Also, the size and layout of the space can make social distancing difficult "in these unusual times."

Maybe this locale could have a liquor license? Or they could finally support delivery with a larger kitchen. The first location is very small, so some new options exist for her.

It is just right for me too. I was just trying to say it is not a thick crust and it is not a thin crust. It is somewhere in between. And because it is handmade, that place between the two varies a bit from pie to pie which is a good thing in my opinion. I really like this place and wish them well.

I dropped by there on Friday for a few pizzas. The menu is exactly the same but more seating obviously. It also seems that this location will offer beer and wine when the license is approved.

We got takeout from the new location this weekend. The phone ordering was a little chaotic, and once we arrived to pick up our pizzas we saw why -- they had the same staff answering the phone that was servicing people there to pick up pizzas. There's lots more room in the new location so it should be fixable. But the main event, their great pizza, was just as tasty (heh) as the original location!

As a 30 year business owner and a true lover of all things pizza I truly hope they are not making a mistake keeping both locations open. Usually when two of the same businesses are this close, they just bleed off of each other. Will they sell more pizza? Sure. But with double the staff, utilities, rent, insurance it may not be worth it. Expansion is the absolute most dangerous time for a small business. I have seen hundreds expand then close completely. But GOOD LUCK to Tasty Pizza!!

It looks like they're closing the original location on Leavenworth and keeping just this one open.

That makes sense. I really, really, really did not understand having the two locations so close together.

I was pleased to hear Tasty Pizza is opening a second location at 49th and Saddlecreek. That’s right down the street from me.

I am surprised that they will be almost right next to Sgt Peffers. Their pizzas are different, but still a tall order.

So, you're saying that Tasty Pizza is... tasty? :)

I'll have to give it a try. I keep my pizza simple and the photo I found of their large pepperoni pizza looked delightful.

Here's their info for archival/google search purposes:

Tasty Pizza

Omaha, NE 68106
(531) 999-1246

That location has also been The Crestwood Store (which also served pizza), Classic Golf, and Boyd & Charlie's BBQ.

I used to visit Crestwood almost daily when I lived near 64th & Pacific. Used to be a Phillips 66 gas station. Their pizza was good too!

Looks like the 49th and Saddlecreek project is officially going to city council next week, opening in Fall 2026. Should be a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Went to Tasty Pizza for the first time, loved it. I really like how you can cut your own Parmesan right off the block. Definitely will be back.

Does anyone know what happened to the planned one at 49th & Saddle Creek? Nothing about it in the discussions about Tasty going into the old Sole Mio?

still on hold until builders figure stuff out.

32nd ave is main priority right now
