University of Kansas Medical Center has proposed a new 700,000 sqft Cancer Research building at their KCK Campus. This is just 2 blocks from KCMO's 39th Street neighborhood. The project is being designed to help KU achieve comprehensive cancer center status. The proposed Cancer Research building will connect via a multi-level skywalk to the new Cambridge North Tower (photo below). KU MED is also working on plans for a new Brain Health Center building. KU MED hopes to get a streetcar or BRT line out to their campus in the next decade.

Very nice, I’ve never really driven around the KU med center, I wonder if it’s as massive as NU’s med center.
I don't think so. KU Med is growing quickly though like NU. I think the hospital has plans for something like 2 million sqft of new space (Phase 1 complete) and the Med Center is looking at almost 1 million sqft in new research and education buildings.
KC's 2 research/university medical centers work together but are in different locations so there isn't just 1 big medical center. Those medical centers have offsite campuses further spreading things apart.

I wonder if it's the same archtiect that did the KU Med and the Children's Mercy building downtown (which was a great addition and is lit up very cool at night).
