North 48th Road Diet?

How would anybody feel if North 48th Street between Holdrege and Adams Streets got a road diet? That means change it from 4 lanes (2 north, 2 south) to only 3 (1 north, 1 south and a center turn lane) with bike lanes?

There aren't any plans to do that now, but if it were to happen, how would you feel about it?

That is a really heavily used route, it seems like cutting that entire area down to three lanes would yield some pretty negative effects. Although, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to maybe cut down to three lanes between Baldwin and Madison in the little downtown area.
