Local woman named in USA Today's Women of the Year for Nebraska



OMAHA, Neb. (FOX 42 KPTM) — She has a history of helping others, from social work to Elevate Omaha. Now she is being honored for doing her job and giving back to the community. Nicky Clark joins dozens of other women as part of USA Today’s Women of the Year, Clark will represent Nebraska. Clark said she started providing services to individuals and families and now she is more involved in the macro part of social work and addressing issues at the root, so they have a more lasting change.

She is the Executive Director of Elevate Omaha a youth driven nonprofit that gears to shift power to young adults. It also connects systems and organizations to young people. Clark works with high school aged students to young adults. With the award she hopes the young people she works with will see people are paying attention and they can make change from the root of the problem.
