So, pretty good infill from a numbers standpoint. 18 one bedroom units on 8000 sq. ft. lot. But, woah, my first impression is it's ugly. I know we bag on big block apartment buildings, but this missing middle scaled project is disappointing from an aesthetic standpoint.

If you read the planning document, they (thank goodness) direct the applicant to revise the plan because it doesn't meet urban design codes and infill guidelines.

that's good. i hadn't read it, but i'm glad they pointed that out to them. I'm sure they will be nice but the exterior looks like a run-of-the-mill, cookie cutter type development. Great spot for apartments, though

This project went to city council yesterday for rezoning and PUR approval. Redesign looks much better.

It’s a T.O.D. (transit oriented development) so only 50% parking is required. There will be 9 spots one of which will be handicapped. Not everyone who would live here would have a car and thus those without would utilize other forms of transportation like public transit. Less parking should also yield more affordable units.

Thank god my neighborhood is keeping out the Elkhorn-bound Creighton students with this!
