Interesting. Thanks for posting it.

That is an interesting perspective Edsas. I've never looked at it from that angle.
I've only focused on the ultra conservative right wing Republican image that hasn't carried a Democrat since Johnson or Kennedy. The state is so Republican that even the Republicans won't campaign here. And then the World Herald, a bi-partisan paper(whatever) has not endorsed a Democrat since Kennedy.
I'll get off the soapbox now.

Maybe Republicans Omaha's suburbs are different, but the Republicans in Western Nebraska tend to be of the Libertarian variety moreso than the Christian Conservative type (although there are those, too.)

I never looked at it that way, either. That's very interesting.edsas wrote:This is exactly what I try to tell my California friends who like to write off the vast swath of red in the center of the country as nothing but a bunch of right-wingers living amongst the grass and cow |expletive|. Nebraska consistantly elects Republicans on the national level, but puts a lot of Democrats in office locally. What does that mean? Nebraska is a state's rights state. They're not affraid of small doses of socialism, they just want it to come from a local level, not the federal government 2,000 miles away.

Yeah, that's more accurate. But you will find a Libertarian streak out in the panhandle.Coyote wrote:Libertarian? maybe Populist.
