Those looking to kick up their heels a little this week may find the two following events worth a look (and not too far)!

The 29th Annual Carson Community Rodeo, August 3-5, in beautiful Carson, Iowa (head east on Highway 92 about 20 miles east of I-29).

the 82nd Annual Sidney Rodeo, August 3-6, in Sidney, Iowa (at jct. of Hwys. 275 and 2)

Real Men Wear Pink

Pink isn't exactly the color most people associate with the tough sport of rodeo.

However, those who are brave enough to wear a pink article of clothing to the 29th annual Carson Rodeo Saturday night will earn themselves $1 off the price of admission.

The Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign began about one year ago when the Wrangler National Final Rodeo dedicated one night of the multiple-day event to raise money for breast cancer.

"In the Carson arena, you're never more than 15 feet from the action," he said, adding that those in the front row are only five feet away. "You can get pretty close to the action if you want to."
