Banana Republic at Village point will be a level 4!
The new Banana Republic at Village Pointe will be a level 4 store. There are five levels, 5 being a flagship store. That's right. The village point store will be one level below a flagship.
I just thought some of you might like to know.

Can we ban any discussion about Walmarts in here? It just seems to bring all the development news down.

Another reason not to shop at Walmart: You might get abducted. Did anyone else see that on Channel 6?

Now I guess since Banana Republic is opening a store at VP, that will take over for the Banana Republic at Regency some 7-8 miles away and that store will now close..Makes perfect demographic sense to me ala Best Buy/Target add nauseum..

The "level" system, at least with Banana Republic, reflects both the actual physical size of the store, and consequently, the amount of actual product that can be carried in the store. To put it in perspective, the Banana Republic at One Pacific Place is a level 1 store. Come to think of it, there might be 6 levels, as I think there is one level smaller than the OPP store. Anyway, in addition to carrying more of the BR clothes line and fashions than the OPP store, the VP store will also carry BR's lines of housewares, more accessories, personal care items, etc. as well as having an entire section of the store devoted to women's petite sizes.
I was really suprised that it was going to be such a big store, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. I was so confused that there weren't more Banana Republics in Omaha with how big the city is and all. And the fact that we are just now getting another one seems so long over due. So it makes sense that Omaha have one really big store, in addition to a smaller store, as opposed to having several small stores.
And just to clear it up if anyone was wondering, the One Pacific Place location is in no danger of closing. Just a couple years ago they signed a 12 year lease on the property. Granted, leases can be broken, I don't think that will happen.

I do like the Banana Republic Stores and I am glad there will be a new one in Banana Republic. Good to hear that there will be more selection.
